    Enjoy

If he can recapture that sort of form then I am getting a lazy lob at our hopes for the season
Wow. Even for a "best of" newsreel, that shows us he has incredible skill and vision. Great acquisition.
  • Great news !!!

Well done to all concerned !

    The tingle is reactivated .
It could be upgraded to "flutters" if Hemed signs
  • So @Redhenry was right all along and cements his position at the top of the Charlton Life IDK league table
He’s definitely top but I also posted he was at the training ground the Friday of the “Greenwich Park weekend”.

Good news and a signing that gives us some additional protection should players like Cullen, Field and Leko be recalled in January. Pleased also that it’s a two year deal, as we need more continuity in the squad.

I feel sorry for Bolton and their supporters but the players are entitled to feel particularly aggrieved. On what conceivable basis can paying someone for over five months not be a repudiatory breach of contract, entitling the player to terminate the contract and claim unpaid wages as damages ? Indeed, it’s hard to imagine a more serious breach vis-a-vis an employee.

I appreciate that this is all about a club holding a player’s registration but the EFL and its regulations are not above the law, as the Football League found out in the early 60s with George Eastham - backed by the PFA and its leader, Jimmy Hill - successfully challenged the maximum wage. More recently, of course, we’ve had the Bosman ruling and freedom of contract.

As @ShootersHillGuru rightly says, the PFA need to get the digit out and force the EFL to amend the rules. Sadly, more clubs are going to follow Bolton and Bury into insolvency and more players are going to find themselves in this invidious position. The issue needs to be resolved and there is surely enough money sloshing around within the PFA to warrant a trip down to see a specialist QC and, in the light of that advice, to really force the issue with the EFL. This type of scenario is intolerable for their affected members (almost always the lower paid ones) and, to adopt the EFL’s own vernacular, it brings the game into disrepute.
Bolton could have loaned or sold him to us in January and made some money. They obviously did not like him and did not play him. Not sure why they are being so offensive.

Not sure they would made any money. We wouldn’t have paid for him and not as if they have had his wages to pay since January!
  • If the PFA had a role in freeing EO from Bolton's malfeasance, are they not in bat for Tomer Hemed as well?
As far as the EFL and FA are concerned, if they've got licence to circumvent the rules on timing on this one, why is the TH case so quiet for so long?  I doubt there are any good answers to any of those questions.
  • Welcome (back) Erhun, may our time together be fruitful indeed.

A stutter on the first Ozzie gives you 5 syllables!

Indeed in the Bowyer has a dream song we have two stutters in this line

    "to Taylor in atta-a-ack"

"Did they get blind Ben from us as well as Pratley? We've well and truly paid them back for Dervite"

They're not a happy bunch, are they. And some of the language - I was shocked I can tell you.

Blimey, he's got a big family. And he's only 28.

Thinking back to when I was his age, at 29 I only had 1 kid.
  • Turkish people stereotypically have big families. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had at least 30 close relatives.
