Favourite Ice Lolly? (For the purposes of this thread, Ice Creams ON A STICK are included.)

Phew, what a scorcher.
So what would be your choice when the dodgy van comes round with its enchanting call?
And why? What makes your choice stand out above those other lesser temptations?

That’s worth a flag you milky bar kid you
  • Currently Hagendaas Salted Caramel, a right little minx of an ice cream.
  • Can you still get those cherry brandy or cider barrel ones? Used to love them as a kid

I used to love a " Lord Toffingham" had loads of a gooey toffee like substance in it. Oh and "Funny Faces".

Now its either a Raspberry Magnum, or a Twister (though every time I eat one I'm reminded of the bloke twirling around with two phones in Airplane shouting "Its a Twister, Its a Twister!!).
  • Orange Jubbly!

    Failing that a Magnum Almond.
  • From when I was a kid in the 50s/60s there was some pyramid-shaped thing you gradually pushed out of its cardboard sleeve. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I've done a search and all I found was the Jubbly and that does't seem right. Any ideas, anyone?

    Nowadays it's a Twister.

And I really don't get on well with cheapo chocolate flakes in cones. I just want the vanilla ice cream.

    Yes - it's a jubbly.
  • As a kid, funny face / feet followed by zoom? (rocket shaped multi-coloured 'proper' lolly)

Later, quite partial to a mivvi

  • Solero, whoever designed that needs to be given a prize for services to humanity.
  • Nobbly Bobbly
    Solero
    Magnum Double Caramel
    Mint Feast
    Fruit Pastille
  • Nobbly Bobbly closely followed by FAB
  • Solero or Twister for me.
  • On a hot one, very partial to a Solero shot ( think they are Calippo shots now) its a very niche pick but they really hit the spot
  • We do eat Magnums (Mint is best), but I used to love Solero's and and other mivvy's. Feast was my young adult choice, but I haven't seen them about much lately - much cheaper than a Magnum I suspect!
  • Used to like a Lolly gobble choc bomb or a witches hat (cider barrel stuck into a cornet), dad would have a midnight chock ice (mint middle) and granddad an oyster.

we stopped getting ice cream vans round our street after Tonibell stabbed Mr Whippy and I remember my mum being worried about having to go to court as a witness, the 70s were so great!

Anyway back on track, that Solero thing I guess.
  • Mars choc ice or Maltesers one on a stick
  • A Lollygobblechocbomb from the 1970's
  • I used to like a feast but the last time I had one the chocolate in the middle was fucking rank
