Tanto Olaofe - 28/01/26 gone on loan to Stockport (p13)

Has he even started two games in a row? Most of the time he comes off the bench there’s about 3 minutes left in the game - don’t think he’s been given a proper chance. He’s looked dangerous at times and is one of two players in the squad that actually have any pace and can go past a man - if he goes, we need to replace him with a similar striker.11

Hernandez and Rousillon will both be takensam3110 said:Kaminski, Mannion, Maynard-Brewer
Jones, Ramsay, Gillesphey, Burke, Clarke, Ramsay, Bell, Rousillon, Edwards
Coventry, Carey, Docherty, , Knibbs, Rankin-Costello, Apter
Dykes, Kelman, Olaofe, Godden, Campbell, Leaburn
I think we're at the limit right now, however if Edwards is out for the season, and maybe Knibbs too, they can come off the list of registered players and make 2 spaces.
8 of the 25 need to be homegrown too but I think that's just need to be UK based not Charlton specifically.
of the squad list two bring two more in2 -
Think he has missed too many big chances for Jones liking, our strikers feed on scraps, so if they are missing their rare chances, it isnt a good sign.0

Both scored just the 1 league goal this season, Miles has had a lot more minutes too.mart77 said:

Interesting post from valleyhatter on one of their forums. https://theyellowboard.boards.net/thread/5924/county-thread-comings-goings-rumours?page=3386
Here are his closing paragraphs;
"For me, Charlton just don't play to all of his strengths: running in behind with pace; attacking with the ball; causing chaos and panic in the opposition defence. It's all play it long and win the second ball, which increasingly they don't win. They've even used him as a target man a few times as a sub, but he isn't really that type of striker, in my opinion, even though he can give it a decent go.
It's a real shame he missed that chance against Orient, as I think if that had gone in he'd now be playing in the Champ with County and doing much better than he is with Charlton.
He needs to come home to a place where he is appreciated and used to his strengths so he can enjoy this peak period of his career."
Think he is right regarding that historic miss v Orient5 -
Posting without reading, but a County fan I know said to me last weekend that there were rumours he might be loaned back. I said it felt unlikely, but who knows?
He's an honest and decent player, but I can't tell if he's simply not just Championship material or a victim of Jones never really knowing his best team. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of him to tell...1 -
Think that's spot on. We've even used him as the target man at points, which is not his game at all. He looks his best when he's chasing balls into the channel and bullying the defender off the ball. But tiki-whacka is not bringing out the best of him, nor any of our strikers tbf.swords_alive said:Interesting post from valleyhatter on one of their forums. https://theyellowboard.boards.net/thread/5924/county-thread-comings-goings-rumours?page=3386

Agreed. Hasn’t had a proper chance. He’s best at running it it he channels behind the defence. Look at the Sheffield Utd away game.arny23394 said:Has he even started two games in a row? It’s not about misses, I don’t think Jones even really thinks about that, it’s about overall contribution, Leaburn is winning and fighting for the ball including defensively , olaofe looks like a lost puppy out there a lot of the time sadly, excepting a couple of encouraging but very short sub cameos early in the seasonLargeAddick said:

Tiki Whacka sounds good, suggesting that to wife tonight, I'll go Tiki dear? She'll go Whacka round my chops.1

I completely agree. This is how I feel about Kelman as well. If he had someone creating for him in midfield he would score ALOT more. He had donley and galbraith in midfield last season to what he has now.swords_alive said:Interesting post from valleyhatter on one of their forums. https://theyellowboard.boards.net/thread/5924/county-thread-comings-goings-rumours?page=3386

Every striker would score with more chances thats just common sense difference is Kelman has shown he can take chances when they fall to him Tanto has shown at Coventry, Oxford and Cambridge he’s got the same amount of composure as Omar Bogle in front of goalaso914 said:

I thought he was younger than 26. Not exactly an age to be thought of as 'one for the future.' Maybe he needs the loan to rediscover his form, because he won't get the minutes with us, nor do we play to his strengths.0

Last night, since the wife is away skiing, I decided to warm up for today by watching the St. Pauli -Hamburg SV derby. A pretty drab 0-0 and St. Pauli were completely toothless until they made a sub. Ricky-Jade Jones, if you please. I had no idea he had gone there. Watching him, I thought, not quite technical enough for Bundesliga - but better than Tanto! And is only 23. So I looked up the details of his transfer there and MacAnthony is whining that they lost out on development fee because he turned down “4 Championship clubs” to go there. Not much clue as to who those clubs were, although Cardiff is mentioned. I wonder if we were one of them.
As i recall we kept him pretty much under control at the Valley, so he has done well for himself, considering that last week he scored a very smart goal at Dortmund - only to go hero to zero by giving away a last minute penalty, although blimey the VAR decision was hairline. But even the fact that he was using his pace to help defend in that position made me think he’s an NJ kinda player. Too late now, though.0 -

I was thinking that Tantos strength would have been useful today, give them something to think about and drive us up the pitch1

Ex Wall academy too. So would probably have had a point to provellama_child_21cws said:I was thinking that Tantos strength would have been useful today, give them something to think about and drive us up the pitch3 -
Tanto proved to be not good enough for this level despite being full of effort.Loan him out3

What a poor indictment of our summer transfer business.
And let's not forget Ahadme from the summer before.12 -
Hopefully this and Apter means we're doing something decent 🤞0

What a circus0

IF we don't replace them with quality that is injury free and ready to go.The Red Robin said:What a circus0 -

Even if we do, what a joke. Signed these players in the summer, barely given a proper chance and ditched already.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:
