World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico
Venues to be announced by FIFA in a ceremony later today. 23 stadiums will be reduced to around 14-16 across the three countries. I would expect four or five stadiums from Canada and Mexico and nine, ten, eleven or twelve from the States. Some local governments are scrambling over each other to offer FIFA the biggest tax…

Under 21s (Match updates and news) - PDL playoff v Notts Forest: Mon 27/04/26 7pm (p407)
On a personal level it is extremely disappointing that our Under 23's are seeking permission to play their matches at Beckenham Town this season. Although 5 matches will be played at the Valley, that is too far for me to travel. Of course Beckenham is far from being "Charlton heartland", but of course the regime are…

Maribor(Slovenia) away 10/7/2026 - tickets on sale (p2)
The closest airport to Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport (MBX) is located just 9 km (about 6 miles) south of the city and Maribor's football stadium. However, because it handles mostly charter and cargo flights, international travelers usually use Graz Airport (GRZ) in Austria, which is 60 km away. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Hopefully…

England v Norway
This will be a very difficult game for England. The Norsemen are on a roll, playing with supreme confidence and have the large, noisy, organised fans right behind them. The danger man of course is Haaland. There are reports that Guehi is unfit. If he is or isn't Burn should play. He has the bulk and attitude to match the…

CADSA are sad to hear of the passing of our ex-chair Tony Farrell. Tony was known around the club for many years, joined CADSA's committee and eventually became chairman. He worked hard for disabled fans to be more recognised within Charlton and Supporters Club Groups outside.

Summer 2026 (Non- Charlton) Championship Transfers
As with the past 2 summers, I will update this thread with a list of all incomings for teams in our division. Keeping injured players on the pitch
Personally, irrespective of whether we have any substitutes available, I disagree with keeping injured players on the pitch just 'because we have to'. We don't have to. That includes Edwards, Bell, Godden, Sichenje and Docherty, who were all told to stay on. Some have since required surgery. The others have suffered…

Managerial sackings, comings and goings

Long Sleeved Football Shirts
Nice to see at least three of Manchester United’s team wearing long sleeved shirts tonight. In my opinion, it looks so much smarter than the trim half way down the arm, separated from a base layer. Admittedly, with some kits you hardly notice the difference, but worst case scenario must be the Palace shirt and red base…
