Has anyone noticed that this map shows that Charlton fans will be, what looks like them being held at the Antigallon.
Presumably held there until the Millwall fans have been cleared from the station.
I’m impressed that they have gone to the trouble of checking all 3k Millwall fans will be going home via the train
I was wondering this. If you're a Millwall fan who's parked off Woolwich road or up by the cemetery then what?

Are you herded towards the station regardless?
Do you have to walk round into all the Charlton fans coming along Woolwich road?
Will Charlton fans who've done the long walk round be held by the station until all Millwall have gone?
Millwall will probably get the treatment from the OB that we experienced at Palace (last time we played there in the league?) and everybody got herded to the station and put on a fast train to London Bridge whether they wanted to go there or not

I remember West Midlands police doing the same to us in 2019 after the WBA game, trying to force everyone onto a London train at Snow Hill station.

Nothing from the club in terms of comms
And the same on the match preview but does mention about road closures before the game

Out of interest can away fans use Bartrams and the fan zone ? I’ve never been been asked to show a ticket unlike the Rose !
Don't see how they can stop them, unless they are obvious away fans...
Same as pubs that have home fans only, you are asked to show your match ticket
Never been asked to produce anything yet...

The only thing i can think of in terms of attending football that is worse than this is when i read that away fans at Blackburn-Burnley could only go if they went by supporters coaches. Fans were only given their match ticket when they got on the coach on the day of the game.

Some Burnley fans lived in Blackburn, so they had to go to Burnley to get a bus which took them back to where they'd come from. And after the game, despite some of them living just a few minutes walk from the ground, they were herded onto the same buses and driven back to Burnley.
The only way the police could appease us at this point is if we went via the national railway museum in York to make a day of it
  • This is an absolute pisstake, home fans more inconvenienced than the away. I really don't understand why Millwall fans are not locked in after the game, most of them must be used to being locked up anyway.

Because the old bill are total bottle jobs and will do anything to wimp out of doing their jobs properly.

There are no trains down the Greenwich line after the game, all trains going via Lewisham  to Charing cross
Well this is turning into a mighty ballache.. will probably take me 2/3 hours to get back to Staines, and that's only if I don't get caught in the protests in central too
  • I’m just gonna wear my half and half scarf and pointlessly walk up and down the divide getting abused by both sides
You don’t have to do that to get abuse.

So unless I get this wrong the aim of the police is to allow the Millwall knuckel draggers to get to the station first so they are either no too inconvenienced or more likely so they can plan a warm welcome for the Charlton fans after our cross-country detour. Can't imagine Millwall being so accommodating to us in the return fixture.

Why do we only keep the bars open an hour after the game? Even more so with this news.

Im surprised they allowed us to get promoted if derbies with Millwall are so problematical.

Sounds more & more like when we played Leicester at Upton Park and they brought so many fans they had to be housed in the chicken run.

That day the home fans were kept behind a few minutes then told we had to do a diversion around the ground.

Ended up walking slap bang into 10,000 Leicester fans heading for the tube station. Absolute nitemare.

Tomorrow has a feeling of turning rather nasty at the train station when the 2 groups collide. Or will the OB, having made the home fans do a 15 minute detour, still not let them on a train home until the station is totally clear of Millwall.
  • So we all know that Millwall know the area quite well what is stopping the idiots who want trouble (and there are quite a few)  walking away down Woolwich road  waiting 15mins then walking back up towards where the hoards of CAFC who will be walking to the station?
Lets hope plod have this well under control as this could turn nasty!!

Don’t get all the fuss. Let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this all to blow over.
Only after we've seen us win by a 98th minute controversial penalty scored in front of the Jimmy Seed.

All Pompey fans are being bused in and out for the game at Saints this weekend. I'm surprised the Met didn't demand all Charlton fans had to be shuttled in from Dartford or something. Jeez.
You laugh but that’s exactly what used to happen when Cardiff played at the Den. You didn’t get a ticket if you didn’t go on the coach. In and out no bother.

It literally is just down to the numbers of old bill to go around.
Doesn't make it right, if I were still in Blighty with my old hat on I’d be working watching SYL & his goons anyway so would miss the game.

It’s bollix and it’s because we are deemed nicer than them so they can treat us like shit. It has been ever thus 🙄😡
So being nice doesn't pay off....but being anti-social does. What sort of message does that give out.

    As I said.....time for placards & flags.
    Yep that's life.

If you don't have a train ticket for example, because you ran to catch a train, you'll likely get punished if caught.

But if you're an intimidating thug you are less likely to be challenged and more likely to escape a fine one way or another.

It sounds idiotic to kettle home fans like this. Especially older fans who let's face it we have more than out fair share of.

Won't the Millwall fans want to walk up the hill to get on a bus to Bexleyheath?

Be interested to know how many people leaving on a normal matchday make their way via Floyd Road or through Ransom Walk, as opposed to going up Harvey? Because it’s going to be the full complement of home fans heading up Harvey Gardens, with a large portion then walking down Charlton Lane, across the live level crossing, and navigating the pavement along the main road. Inevitably, people will spill onto the roadway, which will not only increase congestion but also heighten the risk of an accident - all for the sake of avoiding what has always been done: holding the away fans back for 20 minutes or so.

That’s ok. Buses are accepting Millwall ticket holders only from the final whistle till 4pm.

Apparently the club have secured 38 Lime bikes for Charlton fans.
  • So Charlton fans traveling by train in either direction will have to wait for Millwall fans to disburse before they can gain access to the station.

An absolute shambles if that's the case

    Am I reading it wrong?

    Nope that's correct.

    Absolutely shameful. Only us!

That's how I'm reading even though if they not directly saying that.

So if they are desperate for a ruck what is to stop wall getting off the train at the next station & wait for the trains carrying Addicks

So if you get to Charlton station at 11:30am, you’ve got quite the trek to get into The Valley.
