http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34727258An interesting article on Alli's rise, but what I found most interesting was this section about Jenas playing in the PL at a young age.
Like him, I had the option to go to other clubs but I was very confident as a young lad. I went to Newcastle to play Premier League football because I thought I was ready for it.
It sounds like I am bragging but, even before I went to St James' Park, I felt like I belonged in the top flight - I did not think I would need time to adjust.
My game did not suit the hustle and bustle of chasing long balls, knock-ons and second balls in the Championship. I was not strong enough and it wore me down.
I was still developing physically but technically I had the elements I needed for the Premier League, where you actually get more time on the ball. I was very lightweight, but I was quick, fit and could get it down and play.
When I look at our squad, the young players we've brought in with no Championship experience, and how so many of them have struggled, it shows the flaws in our transfer policy. The players themselves might be good players, but that doesn't mean that they are suited to this division...

The Championship is completely and utterly unrecognisable from Jenas' time

BBC sacks Jermaine Jenas after complaints
Jermaine Jenas, who presented The One Show and appeared on Match of the Day for the BBC, has been sacked by the corporation following complaints about workplace conduct.
The former footballer, 41, has been taken off air from both primetime shows.
BBC News understands his contract was terminated earlier this week, because of alleged issues relating to workplace behaviour.
It followed allegations involving digital communications such as texts, which were raised with the corporation a few weeks ago.

Who on god's green earth thought Jermaine Jenas was a suitable presenter for that moment in British history?
What's next, Mr. Blobby presents the Nobel Prize ceremony?
I can't believe he would have tried it on with Alex Jones
That's one hell of a conspiracy theory ...
Jenas was the Golden boy at the beeb and at 41 was in line for the big bucks taking over from Gary Lineker who is in extra time in his stellar BBC career as the highest earner.
A total plonker if this is a recent text which caused offence to a female college.
"Unsolicited email or text" always sounds like the emails we used to receive from that nice Nigerian chap who was having cash flow problems.
Interesting conversation between JJ and his wife, Ellie Penfold after his "Unsolicited Texts".
edit. Just read he sent text messages to a female colleague.
The Beeb sacked him for misdemeanors,
He asked for a pic of her crack,
But she didn't text back.
So he sent her a pic of his penis.
allegedly
Whose broadcasting skills were quite heinous,
He sent out a text,
And guess what happened next?,
He got sacked cos he JPEG’d his penis.
