Spurs were on top in the first half, constantly pressing high and forcing us to go back to the keeper. They scored early on, a back post header from a free kick, and even though they didn't create that many more chances, the gap in quality was clear in their slicker one-touch passing and better anticipation. But on 45 minutes we equalised, Ellie Brazil running on to a good ball down the right, outmuscling the defender and teeing it up for Katie Bradley to sweep home.
The second half was much more even, as if we'd suddenly found that belief that we could match them. Princess Ademiluyi and Karin Muya replaced Brazil and Bradley at half-time and caused the Spurs defence a fair few problems, and the midfield passing was much improved. Then, immediately after Big Dave Lockwood announced that it would go to penalties if it finished 1-1 (a new variant of the commentator's curse?), Spurs broke through on the left and Jess Naz slammed home the winner. It still might not have been, as we hit the post after a goalmouth scramble in added time, but Sophie Whitehouse also had to pull off a great save from a long-range effort to keep it at 2-1.
Overall I thought it was pretty encouraging. Spurs showed what WSL sides are capable of, but we matched them for a good chunk of the game and should take lots of heart from that.

The league website has all the games on 3 November as 3pm kickoffs, but both clubs say it's at the normal 2pm.
@EpsomAddick Announcers curse! Was one of those we need to make the announcement but……. Ah well!
Games will kick off at 2pm unless it’s against a team from the North East who agree to a Noon kick off for our away visit. Sunderland didn’t so it’s a 2pm KO Sunday.
I have watched a lot of Charlton Women’s teams over the years and this one is a bit special.
watching on youtube. Couldn't make 2 games in 2 days. For some reason it has subtitles which are hilarious at times. We've been Chandler and have numerous players notably Piss and Skills. They have been Stumbles and even God playing for them. Various others which I can't remember but all add to the entertianment!
Now losing 3-2. Sunderland went 3-1 up with a well worked corner. Pulled one back when the ref allowed play to continue while 2 Sunderland players rolled around claiming injury.
There is going to be about 20 mins injury time at this rate.
Sounds like it wasn’t the best performance, but the good thing about this side is they’ve shown they’ll keep going to the end and so you always feel there’s hope they can get a result. Even when they’re 2 down with ten minutes left. 😎
Well, the winning run had to come to an end at some point.
As others have said, quite a lot of that was poor. We didn't create many chances until we were chasingthe game, but the main problem was defending set pieces – OK it was a great free kick for their opener, but their second and third were preventable. And Mel Filis... man, she's such a frustrating player. One moment she'll pull off a great bit of skill, the next she'll pick completely the wrong pass or shoot from way too far out.
The main positives were Jodie Hutton, who put in a superb cross for Kayleigh Barton to pull a goal back before half-time and was always an outlet for getting forward, and Karin Muya, who scored twice and caused them problems all afternoon (though why the keeper came so far out of her goal for our equaliser is beyond me). And credit to the team for fighting back to get a point, especially without Ellie Brazil.
Next in the league is London City Lionesses next Sunday, which will be a huge test.
Think we showed good spirit and determination today. First time in a long time I've watched any Charlton team and even when we were loosing I thought we could turn it around
Got my ticket for next week as Bromley is quite easy for me to get to
I think that's the sort of game we used to lose when we were playing at the Oakwood. At the Valley it's easier for the crowd to make some noise and encourage the team when the situation's not good, where at the Oakwood things tended to go quiet. Apparently only 534 there today but it felt like more than that.

Sunderland had 3 points from 3 games before today. We have to be almost perfect to go up with just 1 promotion place.
