I get the hate for Taylor, quite rightly, but don’t get the vitriol for Bowyer on this thread? He stuck with us at one of the worst times in our history and gave us that Wembley win, Am I missing something ?
He left because it suited him if it didn’t suit him he’d have stayed (until pushed ) and who can blame him for jumping ship from us and going to a higher placed team on , im sure, more money .
If Lyle was loaned to us and scored goals and took us into the playoffs I am sure many will let the past slide? I don't agree with what has gone on over the years, but this is football, but like our own employment, if there is an indication that someone is out there and going to offer life-changing amounts of money then off you go!
If I was Grant Mc Cann I would be gutted the way he has been kicked out the door. Give it 12 months down the line and he was offered his job back with all the riches I am sure he will possibly say yes please. Their is no loyalty in football, Taylor had his head turned! Life too short, i f we were very loyal to the club we would be sold out each week regardless of our position. Rangers proved that when they got expelled and that did not stop the numbers flooding through Ibrox.
The fact that scrote Bowyer is prepared to get into bed with scrote Taylor after their history shows just how morally bankrupt football is. But we knew that already. Deserve each other. Hope they get relegated.
It is a really strange move from bowyer. Short memory.
It is just a loan... and midland Millwall obviously need goals. The move will probably end up being a permanent one when the season is over.
Lyle Taylor has betrayed bowyer. Everyone in the Birmingham dressing room will know about it.
He won't be popular and everyone will think he's a twat.
I don't think any of them will give a shit tbh.
Loyalty means nothing to most players and managers. What they feel/think is light years away from what fans feel/think.
IMO Taylor peaked in his time with us. He's probably on a downward slope in his career given he's not played consistently in 2 years (I hope he is anway).
He left because it suited him if it didn’t suit him he’d have stayed (until pushed ) and who can blame him for jumping ship from us and going to a higher placed team on , im sure, more money .
It's not that he left, it's that he refused to play when he was fit and we were in absolutely dire need. It's almost unprecedented given our circumstances at the time and he has been widely condemned for his (in)actions. It was simply wrong.

I've nothing against Bowyer for leaving. He stuck out some tough times under the true villains, and was probably exhausted by the time Brum came calling. I was glad to see him go as I didn't like what I could see of his management style, but he didn't do anything wrong by us (except for his dalliance with football surrealism during the terrible slump) and it suited both parties. I dislike BCFC and Taylor and won't shed a tear if they go down. I don't think this will end well for them.

Exactly. Not forgetting he got injured and was out for a large part of the season playing for his pub team of a country. The bloke is a disgrace.

I’m talking Bowyer and of course Taylor was a selfish Cnut who took the piss and did what suited him
Birmingham are in the shit and need characters. Not whelks like Taylor who jack when it gets tough, luckily for Lyle Birmingham don't have many characters who might question his lack of stones for a battle or desire to compete at risk of getting a kick during a relegation battle

We played some great football under Bowyer, it's a shame it tailed off at the end.

Always remember the 1-1 against Forest at home. 1st half was the best I've seen Charlton play at the valley since Premiership days.

Even the Turkish Messi looked the bollox in that game
Bowyer and Taylor are perfectly fine together. Bowyer spun a line to the media about Taylor downing tools to galvanise the squad in fight of relegation.

Aaaarrrrggghhh....can't believe I'm back on this thread! This fucker proper boils my piss and I hope this goes horribly wrong for Birmingham. Am amazed Bowyer sanctioned it (dunno if he has any say in transfers?). Employing the fella who so publicly mugged you off just a couple of seasons ago? Weak.
Nothing against Bow at all, he was a brilliant player and manager for us in difficult times. Probably shouldn't be surprised as this is football in 2022, but I think Bow has really shown a lack of bollocks here.

If that's true then Bow has certainly gone down in my estimations
Why wouldn't Bowyer sign him? Lyle was brilliant for Bowyer at Charlton. A very specific set of circumstances happened that ended up with Lyle letting us down badly, but that was a fairly unique situation unlikely to repeat. Birmingham are 18th, 12 points off the drop (with Peterborough two games in hand over them) and they absolutely cannot afford to go down. If they spend too long near the bottom Bowyer will lose his job. Lyle scored 11 goals in 22 Championship games for Bowyer and he'll feel that it's worth bringing in a bloke he doesn't like to do a job; it'll be worth it if Taylor gets the goals to steer them clear of the drop and Bowyer can still think he's a prick at the same time. Personally I'm just delighted that Lyle failed at 'big school' and has had to go running back to the manager that made him a potent striker at this level for more instruction. It's hilarious really when you think about it, a huge win for us bitter types.
We've seen Bowyer sign another striker who was successful for him and with us but that didn't work out well for Birmingham did it? Although the £300K profit probably offset the lack of goals. History might be repeating itself.
Bit different with Chuks as I think Bowyer never really trusted him to stay fit - only started him in one game for Birmingham. I think he came in as a risk-free free transfer but Bowyer wouldn't have paid money for him. I also think that Chuks is a bit of a lower league David Nugent. Too good for League One but completely ineffectual at Championship level. Bowyer got a tune out of Lyle at Championship level though so he'll be hoping to repeat that, unless Lyle has completely lost interest which would not be a massive surprise.
Lyle Taylor is a very good fit for Birmingham City. Absolute wind up merchant on the pitch and their fans will love him. My own tale objectively is that I doubt he is a very popular character when he isn't in the room, he's got a big mouth and is incredibly self centred which is a traight centre forwards need but he hasn't anywhere near done enough in the game to behave the way he clearly does in a group dynamic. Not only that but his previous for reneging on a contract and leaving his teammates on the field of battle and genuinely if I was a pro who found him in my changing room I'd be on his case for him to show me he had the stones for a relegation fight and not to pussy out of it

Walk out on us??
Almost everyone wanted him gone back then. His time was up
if it didn’t suit him he’d have stayed (until pushed )

I had no issue with Bowyer until this day.
