Has always given his best but a year past it and not good enough any more. Always thought I would like to see him stay on as a coach but today's sending off and so soon after another says maybe he does not have the maturity/temperament you would expect of a 35 year old.
He's our best tackler and every team needs a ball winner or you would rarely get the ball. Whatever anyone's opinion is of Pratley (and I'm definitely not defending his two pathetic sendings off), who is a better ball winner than Pratley?
His job is to win the ball and lay it off (I fully accept his limitations).
Nothing but positive words to say about Pratley. Gave his all during those three seasons and scored probably one of the most important goals in our recent history.
Hopefully, he will get another league 1 club and can give him a clap next season.
Devo. Obviously the right decision given his age and contract status but he was absolutely huge for us during the play-offs and our difficult Championship season. Proper warrior and a great signing for us for the impact he had
I'm going to miss Darren's weird energy - his demonic smile in the face of acts of physical brutality, whether he was on the receiving end or dishing it out. All the best, big man.
Good pro. Doncaster at H was such a massive goal. Can’t say anything bad about the guy.
I understand why we have released him, but in all honesty I think he could offer more than Watson. He’s certainly not the most technical player, but sometimes you need what he brings.
Hopefully he gets picked up if he plans to continue playing. League 2 sides could do a lot worse.
We're going to have to replace the dodgy free kicks he wins in injury time now he's gone. Love watching him fall like an accordion tossed down a staircase when we're 1-0 up
I hope he comes back with his new club or when he retires so we can really show him some deserved appreciation. He definitely falls into that category.

“and Gillingham’s substitute Darren Pratley has just clattered into Albie Morgan, 30 seconds after coming on and the ref is reaching into his pocket”

That is what he does. And he is good at what he does.

I agree. Not a criticism, merely a prediction (clubs other than Gillingham can be inserted)
Sad to see him go, always gave 100% for us and always did whatever the manager asked. I think the younger players will miss him around as well as was quite a mentor.
We wouldn't have got promoted without him, and not just for that goal.

Good luck Darren in whatever you choose to do next.
