By the way for everyone blaming the EFL, the decision to deduct 12 points and do it next season is the decision of the independent disciplinary panel, not the EFL.
Rick Parry should resign as of today at the very least.
Don't hold your breath on that one, Mutts.
Zero integrity, zero accountability, zero morals - the game of Association Football, not just in this country but the world over, is beyond redemption.
Like I said on the other thread, if Wigan lose the appeal they'll sue and ask why their penalty isn't applied next season, if Wigan win the appeal Barnsley will sue as they'll then be relegated, and it's in our interest to sue and get both of them guilty and applied this season so then we stay up. It's a ridiculous situation and the EFL have not only bottled it but also fucked themselves over as if they just held out til after the playoff final they could claim it was too late to apply it then but by announcing it now they've given teams enough time to lawyer up
Well......that's it. What is the point of anyone not cheating ? Wigan knew that the 12 point deduction is in place for administration, yet, I think, they are still appealing..... Sheffield Wednesday knew they did wrong, charged this season (yep, still going on) but get punished next season. Derby County, I assume, will be "punished" the same by the EFL. There are possibly a few increased bank accounts around........
Why not get rid of all the rules, and the EFL, and let teams do what they want ?
I know I haven't seen Charlton Athletic live for over 4 years, but this has finally finished me with "professional football".
They do have a choice, and that is not to relegate us or Wigan and have two extra relegation places next season with both Wigan and Wednesday and possibly Derby starting on -12 points.

I'm starting to feel the same way mate. Don't know how much longer I can put up with all the corrupt shit anymore
Terrible own goal by the EFL. This will be talked about for years. Don't blame Wednesday for the result. 12 points is significant, however it is only a punishment if it affects a season, i.e promotion or relegation. This affects nothing yet. A protest coming from CAFC should follow this decision but i doubt it. Sadly our owners (whoever they are) don't give a fuck about football.
It is fair for the commission to decide whether guilty, but the EFL should apply the punishment in line with its rules.
Agreed, surely the commission's job is to determine guilt or not and then the punishment; no way should they have the power to decide when the punishment is given

Derby will probably be the season after next knowing the EFL.

Agreed. How can his position remain tenable when the EFL are this much of a continuing disgrace. He needs to be held accountable for this whole thing. How can it take so long?!! Surely they run the process yet this has still happened. Scum.

I suppose if they do enough to stay up it will be next season and if they don't it will be the season after!
Whoops I posted this in the wrong / other thread. Meant to put it here:
Sheff Weds scored against us in the 95th minute and we dropped 1 vital point in that match that would have kept us up. Would they have gotten that last minute equaliser without the players or squad depth they cheated their way to buying? All ifs and buts - but the fact is that they benefitted from their cheating this season and at least one team who suffered as a direct result will be relegated in their place.
Okay. We should have done better in any of our other matches. But fuck I feel like we‘ve been hard done by in several matches especially towards the end of the post-lockdown and this is just another shit sandwich to have to choke down
American sports have a commissioner. He is totally in charge. He sets the punishments. He also does the appeals too. That’s what we need. One person in charge who is independent of the league. It works well over there
It is too late to relegate Wednesday now but the EFL have to consider not relegating us and Wigan to avoid getting seriously sued. We have different angles in this, but I think both clubs should work together. Well if we had proper owners we should.
The EFL think they can get away with it because of the troubles both clubs have in terms of ownership. Maybe both sets of fans should get together and fight this. There is something to fight and possibly win here.
One thing about all of this is if we still had RD as an owner he'd be all over this like a rash, he bought us with the FFP rules in mind and was disappointed when they didn't impose it properly
