Leaburn being out for the rest of the season in itself isnt a problem (he's hardly been pulling up trees in recent games)......the problem comes in the back up players -
If I was him I would sign a contract with us as soon as possible. He will not get a better offer now. The question is should we sign an injury prone player again.
If true and this is another injury that will sideline him I genuinely feel for the lad. It will seriously impact his options re moving on as it casts another serious doubt on his ability to stay fit
With Miles out, we've seen the 'real life' risk of playing members of the first team in U21 games to keep them 'fresh and fit'.
Suddenly, from having 2 young players competing in the same position, they're both unavailable from injuries in training and an academy game.
But you can't wrap up players in cotton wool for months, as they'll be completely rusty when they have to play. Kanu twisted his ankle, that could have happened in normal training.
Highly unlikely that anyone from the youth setup is going to play given we are fighting for promotion and they have not played in a league match of substance. As much as I don’t like that we have three slower hold up center forwards as reserves, we are going to have to live with it and hope
Feel for the lad but also these injuries are getting to common. Honestly right now (ignoring the fact that he is one of our own) would you offer him anything more than 1/2 years on a contract ?
He does have a touch of class of course, which was prevalent in December, but overall this season he hasnt really kicked on has he ? maybe the injuries are hampering his ability
We got promoted with Parker who did contribute when it mattered.
Parker was a much better player than Ahadme and what Chuks is now . He was also playing in a much more fluid outfit .
Yes but in our situation where we need someone on the bench who can come on and do something I would rather one of our youngsters than Chucks. They would at least have the incentive of proving themselves so we know they will give 100%

Agreed - I would be giving Dixon and Casey a go ahead of both of them

I've been advocating having Dixon on the bench for the past month or two. Just gives us something different. And he's quick & can finish.

A big loss that will impact our season, as he's an excellent option from the bench (at the very least).
Or maybe Ahadme will score the winner at Wembley
Aneke
Ahadme.
But we knew this in January.

Dr Abbott or the Specialist will be the guys to listen to not a board member.
So the scan had already been done before Saturday's match 🤔

Could he play a part in our run in?
