If it is likely that he is going to carry on breaking down after every few games of 20 to 30 minutes it cannot be in his long term physical or mental interests to carry on and he needs to be advised and helped to find an alternative career. far too many sportsmen have problems when their careers come to an end.

We spent £100k more on Moutaouakil than Chuks back when £400k on a player was a lot more money and he played 21 times in three years due to injury, and when he played apart from in a couple of early games he was abject. We ended up paying up the last year of his contract to get him to go away. If we hadn't had Chuks this season Appleton would have killed us and we'd be a L2 team next season. We still might but at least there's a chance. No way we'd attract Nathan Jones with us down on a points total closer to Carlisle's. That alone makes Chuks more valuable than disasterpieces like Charlie Kirk who dragged the team down when he played or Polish Pete who played 3 minutes for us as a replacement for our best player since the Premier League days. Chuks a bad bit of business? Sure. Among our worst ever? Not even close. Bad business is the only thing this club has been good at in recent years, he's got too much competition.

I don't think it is really. Re-signing him on a contract of that length was daft but Chuks is actually the only thing that has offset the Appleton effect that otherwise would have seen us completely cut adrift this season. We've got 19 points this season from the 10 games Chuks has played in and haven't lost this season when he's been available. We've got 22 points from 27 games without him. Some of those 22 points need to be attributed to the Nathan Jones effect and 6 of them were won by Dean Holden and Jason Pearce. Appleton won 2 games out of 18 without Chuks and 3 out of 6 with him. The 12 points from 6 games that Appleton stumbled into with Chuks in the side are more than a quarter of the points we have this season.
We've made some absolutely atrocious signings in the past decade but Chuks has genuinely been a key part in the difference between us hopefully scrapping our way away from danger this season and being sunk into L2 for the first time in our history. He's not been brilliant value for money but a player who stops us from slipping into that level of ignominy and helps rescue us from a historically bad managerial hire can never be considered one of our worst bits of transfer business. We signed Djimi Traore man.

It must be on medical advice that he warms up without stretching his legs, he isn't lazy. His injuries presumably are all down to over stretching, which must be impossible to avoid at some stage while playing - hence his injuries.
When you look at our track record (thanks for the trip down nightmare lane GM!) over the years, is does not take too much of a forensic mind to work out why we have been invariably shit. Couple that with behind the scenes churnover, owners of varying degrees of malice, delusion or downright criminality and the evidence M'Lord is overwhelming.

I'm not saying we should flog him into the ground, playing him back to back 90 minutes, or even start him all the time. But there is no way we should be trying to keep him to '30' minutes when he just breaks down anyway.
In the season he played under Bowyer that everyone points to as good practice for Chuks. He only played less than 30 minutes 14 of the 38 games he played.

I hope we listen to the Brighton fella and our medical team and heed their advice whatever it is rather than playing for 30mins or lobbing him on from the start because the manager wants to win one game. We are likely paying a lot for our backroom staff and so it would seem daft not to listen to them imo.
