Appleton is delighted to add further quality to his engine room. The Head Coach said: “Tyreeq is six foot three and he gives us a physicality in midfield. He can play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder because he’s got the ability to get up and down the pitch when he wants and needs to. He can do that from a physical point of view, but he’s also got the discipline to sit in there when required.
“Tyreeq has played at big clubs has been promoted twice, so he brings a lot of experience to the group as well.”

Not overly keen but he is a big lad so will at least add a bit of strength and height to the team.0

The start of the rumoured ambitious exciting January
A player on the way down…on loan
7 -
Love it - Charlton are thrilled to announce the loan signing of someone most people on here if truth were told have never heard of.
Still welcome to the madhouse.6 -
The first of a few January never-beens I expect.3

Unbelievable signing, one of the best players we could have got and should be playing lower half prem minimum I'd say.
Out of favour at his club,
Inconsistency issues,
Cheap option,
'Could be promising with a run of games',
Soundbite from the club that he could prove to be a permanent, check
A bingo card list player beyond even my expectations. Signings like this will make the 8 hour round trip tomorrow feel like nothing.24 -
I don't see how we can moan about someone who's dominated us more than once in the recent past19
-
this is all very well but what is hi squad number and did he sign in time for tomorrow????0

If you were to identify one of our key weaknesses, it’s in lack of height, physicality and getting overrun in midfield.
Bakinson looks like he could possible address that, whilst being part of a squad that got promoted from this league last year.Could be decent, could be a flop. But I’d prefer a signing like this to *insert league 2 team captain/player of the year*.21 -
"My conversations with Michael Appleton have all been really positive and he was one of the big reasons why I wanted to come here.”
Sometimes Tyreeq for your own credibility, it's best to say nothing.50 -
He's like a league one vieira
Leuth probably, 5 minutes into his debut.

Positives we need more physical presence in the squad, and his time at Ipswich and Wednesday shows clubs saw potential in him. Still young enough to improve.
Negatives we’d all prefer permanent signings, this feels like someone who is running out of chances in L1, it’s up to him to show consistency and win a contract here (or better), otherwise he might have to drop down a level (whether that’s a lower division or a smaller club in this league).
Interesting in FM he’s more of a technical midfielder rather than the aggressive ball winner that you might expect.

Good luck with us Tyreeq.
Be a winner if you play.5 -
Hopefully adds some of the physical presence that's needed in our midfield - don't suppose he's match fit though.0

See everybody's thrilled with the signing. Already decided he's shit and on the way down
Well to come from the Championship to a mid table league one club is a step down.0 -
As usual will judge when he plays in a Charlton shirt.19

Well I’m not going to complain, as I’ve been saying our main weakness is in midfield, and have been calling for two or three signings in that area to (literally) strengthen the side. It sounds like he has the physical attributes required, and as he’s played at a higher level you’d hope he has the ability as well.Whether or not he actually turns out to be a good signing, only time will tell.5

I feel the rumblings of excitement already... Either that or I need to buy more toilet paper!2
-
Did I imagine it or did someone at the club say we would focus on permanent signings this window rather than loans?
Doesn’t mean perms won’t still come in, but interesting that the first deal is a loan.7 -
I've no idea whether he'll be any good, but he's certainly the right type of signing for our soft centred midfield.6
-
If he stops teams running directly through the middle of us then I don't care if he can't actually kick a ball that's not already got a shin attached to it. He's been part of more successful League One promotions in the last two years than the rest of our clowns so I'll take that experience. Sounds like Appleton sees him as an option as a box to box but if Bakinson actually knows something about positioning I'd be happy for him to sit and Dobson to be allowed to go AWOL further up the pitch and win it back higher. The reality is that we're stuck with Appleton, so let's give him the lummoxes he wants for now. If it works we can mutter to ourselves about the standard of football and if it doesn't it'll speed up his departure. At the very least it's a midfielder who isn't Fraser, and there's literally no way Bakinson can do worse than Fraser's current form.14

I can’t say I know anything about the lad but he is playing higher so must have a game. Unlike most I don’t mind these type of loans as if they are soon out of contract we can sign them later it sort of makes sense1

Pretty underwhelming given the feedback he comes with from all his previous clubs but let's hope we are the club where he turns it around and becomes world class1
-
If he can add a bit of physical presence and experience to the midfield then it's a good move. Can't say I know too much about about him really beyond a quick glance of wiki.1

All the best Tyreeq6
