    No. Premier League interest?

Never seen one of these nonsense websites until yesterday, when another one shared in the rumours thread said we were signing an Oldham player who doesn’t actually play for them.

Crikes, the wording in Godden's post could not be any different from the last forward we had who helped us into the Championship!

Has anybody come across a youtube clip of every goal he has scored this season?
    Nice.....

A great reminder of his ability and finishing prowess.

Will be interesting to see if he is in Nathan’s plans this season.

Would be controversial (again) if he got a move this summer (maybe another league one club, chasing promotion).

I spoke to a Coventry fan last season, who thought he was too slow for them in the championship, and that was why they got shot of him.

Personally would love to give him a try, has got so much experience that will help us, and the young lads in the team deal with the pressure of the step up.

Would 100% give him a chance at Championship level , his experience is going to be absolutely invaluable even if he doesn't start every week. He's an intelligent enough player that he'll adapt his game.

He played his way in last year through effective substitute appearances and I would expect something similar this year.

There’s no way he doesn’t start early in the season for us at least. What’s the alternative?

A shiny new striker we’ll soon sign, overhype after his goals against non-league clubs in preseason, write off after his first 5 league appearances before eventually proving to be a good signing?

Agreed. He’s definitely an integral part of the squad.

And what a signing he has been, we’ve come along way in a year, who’d have thought it!

    Ahadme & Kanu 🙄.

I despair with our fan base sometimes.

Sky are filming something with him tomorrow, so keep an eye out for when that is released.

Cawley’s article about Godden’s career so far is worth the £5 a month  alone

Of course we've seen him on the training pitch so know he's nearly there, but he must have received a heavy knock in the Wembley final?

    Is Matty Godden in Slovenia?

I didn't see him in the clips I saw but I know it all top secret now when player may or not have an injury.

Yes he is... He was in one of the rest ones, where the players were asked to name the best / worst dressed in the squad - Luke Berry appeared in the same video as well.

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has confirmed that last season’s top scorer Matty Godden underwent “minor” knee surgery in the summer.

From Cawley’s Substack in case anyone is interested. Without saying it Jones sort of confirms Kanu isn’t in his plans for the season as he lists all the other strikers by name as a reason why they went ahead with the surgery

Brave lad. Played through pain last season to help get us promoted. Shame he’s missing the start, but if it’s just a minor meniscus clean-up, he’ll be back soon. His commitment to getting us promoted will continue to be sung!

Yes. Interesting, as Kanu looks ahead of Mbick from what we’ve seen on the pitch thus far, but I guess Mbicks physique and younger age may mean Jones thinks there’s much more to come from him. Perhaps even our own defenders have fed back that Mbick is a handful to mark

Think it’s more that Kanu has hit a point where he needs regular playing time to develop whereas Mbick has more he can learn just by training with the first team. They’re also a different style of player so have different players above them in the pecking order

I posted on here that Godden had an operation. Certain people didn’t believe me.
