Kaheim Dixon - on a season long loan to Crawley (p25)

Exactly. Based on the results and performances, there's no-one you can really say should be dropped/swapped so that Dixon could even be included.letthegoodtimesroll said:
Or, Nathan has identified a team and squad that is delivering results when he plays them every game…ElfsborgAddick said:Jones not playing Dixon, perhaps is a combination of not feeling he's ready OR not wanting to play somebody who was perhaps brought in against his wishes?
It's not (just) about his own qualities but we've got a team that plays well and Jones has done well to switch things up in the right way at the right time (mostly) so sadly for Dixon it's just not the time and place yet.
Possibly once we know our final placement he might get a few run outs to settle him in.0 -
I suspect his next step would be a loan move to gain some first team experience0

I saw the part about interest, but where did Sheff Utd come from?robroy said:

If you were a team going for promotion to the Prem like the blades why would you go for TC who is our most improved player but hardly knocking on the premier door where the defenders are so much quicker and fitter.
I'm reserving judgment on Dixon as it's like chalk and cheese when coming into the 18 of a successful side to coming on when the team are struggling and the crowd goan every time the ball is lost.1 -

Because you hope Charlton are the soft touch we’ve been in the past and you get a promising young player on the cheap. If his end product improves he’ll be worth a lot more. As a winger/striker they could ease him into the team to help him get to that level.soapboxsam said:If you were a team going for promotion to the Prem like the blades why would you go for TC who is our most improved player but hardly knocking on the premier door where the defenders are so much quicker and fitter.

Some valid points Scoham, and CAFC will come under pressure with the likes of TC if he continues his improved form in the run in, come the summer.

He has a contract till 2028 so that'll give us a nice fee1 -

Probably most including me but I think the fact that Dixon is scoring freely with some remarkable goals for the U-21’s makes some people including me ask the question as to why he’s not even included to be in and around the first team squad if for nothing else to get a feel of it. I think things have slightly changed, with our upturn in form but prior to that when the first eleven were struggling to score at all it was understandable that people were asking the question. I accept that Jones doesn’t feel he’s ready and I’m sure that’s true but I’d suggest being included in the first team squad wouldn’t stunt his progress and might give encouragement to the lad. It’s not like he’s not played Mens football. He’s a current international who has featured for his Country.NabySarr said:I wonder how many of the people calling for Dixon have actually watched him play much0 -
Not playing for the U21s today0

He’s not involved with the u21s who are playing Sparta Rotterdam u21s in a friendly this morning, so perhaps he’s with the first team squad tonight.

He trains with the 1st team so he is around that environment. We are pushing for the play offs so there is no room for giving out places on the bench for experience!ShootersHillGuru said:

It’s in Rotterdam, so must have been planned for a while with there being a gap in their fixtures.ForeverAddickted said:Random fixture0 -

Most likely him (and Enslin) have been kept back to train with the seniors and in case of injuries. Unlikely to be a conspiracy to do with passports or visas1
 -

Enslin isn't there either so suspect it is just that both are on the fringes of the 1st team squad, Enslin ahead of Dixon I'm told, so haven't travelled.AberystwythAddick said:

Somebody has misheard and it's being played in Rotherham.

            The game finished 3-3

Looks like the poor buggers went over by motor.
Perhaps @Lewis Coaches will have an idea why we played over there.

I wondered the same, though Dutch football is known for youth development. Maybe it’s more about seeing their academy, sharing ideas and playing a friendly or two while we’re over there.ShootersHillGuru said:

Think the link is Andy Hunt. Someone mentioned on the U21 thread that he works for one of the Dutch teams the academy visited0
 -
Told Chris Lock arranged the game with the Sparta Sporting Director and that Hunt came along as he's local.
Maybe that is brushing over some deeper relationship yet to be developed but maybe it's just a couple of teams with a free week having a game.3 -
