Crowd Today

DIsappointing again.

Wasn't this one of the £10.00 promotion games?

I recall Airman Brown saying that we give 1000 comps out for Saturday games, did we not do that today? If we did, the away end was down 90ish and the home areas down by around 1000 on Monday.

Have to say it looked more than 14,200 but for me that is still a poor show for a team that could have gone top with an extra goal.

Very good numbers for a team that average 3-4k at home and have a pretty shoddy away record. Suspect we wouldn't have taken many more down there today.
  • Winds me up. Theyll all be flocking back if we get back to the premiership or when there's a scramble for cup tickets.

  • Would you rather it was half full of real fans or completely full of glory hunters?

Yep, considering that I heard that MK Dons only took 40 to Hillsborough.

I'd rather half full with real fans and half full with glory hunters...............as I'm sure the clubs accountant would agree.

A lot of kids that had too much sugar near me today.

That makes me sound old and I'm only 23. And they were about 16/17/18 too!
  • 2 drunks or druggies next to me today... they'd been let out of rehab as it was cheap!

  • Had the joy of sitting in front of the man that uses every expletive under the sun every match.  It really is eye opening what he thinks of his own team.. what a guy

Every club has glory hunters - how many Man U fans would there be if they were League 1? I'd rather have a full Valley even if some of the people in it just want to see good football, rather than being die hard fans.

There looked more in teh ground to me -was a disapointing figure
  • Yes, there were schools comps today. I did say that Monday's crowd was better than people thought and this is why. We did about 500 £10 tickets for today but they won't necessarily all be extra fans. We also did £5 U18s.

I'd guess the Chesterfield offer also diverted some occasional fans.

There will have been more people in today because a lot of STs will have given a televised Monday night game a miss, especially kids.

Get on my t*ts some of that lot, least I didn't have to put up with it today!  Did G tell them where to go?

As for the crowd, I know many are picking and choosing at the moment for a variety of reasons, but crowds will pick up when the team starts to prove itself on a more regular basis but we've had a few false dawns over the last couple of years so I don't blame people for not getting carried away with it just yet.
  • The crowd was disappointing in numbers but I hope they will begin to see the upturn eventually! The club are doing their best to attract them all but...is it league one or financial situation? Who knows. Great sound from the north stand again guys! Keep it up.

Wish we'd concentrate on ourselves in the songs - Exeter brought good numbers - when we goaded Wednesday fans, they upped their support - surely you want to subdue -not encourage opposing fans. Our fans are great when they support the team and wish they stuck to that.

yes, I tought it was terrific too - As for the booing - perfectly acceptable to boo a team collectively (I would never do it though) when they are underperforming and doing badly in the league - as long as it isn't silly and a bit subdued - say at half time as a message to pull their socks up, but not when they are top or near the top of the league. Booing individual players is wrong in any circumstances.

I had the pleasure of sitting near an idiot who kept shouting where's your plan B Powell and he actually thought himself funny and when he wasn't talking nonsense , he was booing. You know who you are - front row upper block N !!!

I had someone behind me slagging off BWP for being lazy. I pointed out that he was probably the best striker in the League & likely to be the top goal scorer. I asked who would he prefer. He shut up & BWP scored 10 mins later.   Thank-you God !

My daughter and I went old school in the west stand and sat near the goal we were attacking in each half, so there's one upside to plenty of empty seats.
