i see .. 237 all out, do you reckon that Rob Key will retire this close season?

  • Don't worry MOG, he just doesn't understand and worse doesn't want to adnit he doesn't understand or that he was just wrong.

NLA. PP played him and then he got injured.

Fiona, enjoy. See you when you get back to Blighty. Be safe.

Dear oh dear. Hard to find a thread these days that doesn't involve a personal spat. Thank **** we're second otherwise this site would be unreadable. Anyway, well done solly proved me wrong.
  • Thanks Henry. Hoping to catch a game when back over Christmas/NY-maybe see you with Alex Wright?

Quite so, that's exactly what you are Lincs.

Fiona, see you for a catch up pint in the Lib at Xmas then.

Solly got injured after PP had dropped him at Orient for Francis.

Don't think Solly's a much improved player at all.

Pretty much the same player he's always been ie very good.

The difference is some have finally taken their blinkers off so can see past his age, height and that he's a home grown player.

I've generally been patient with Solly's progress (& am on record saying let's give Mambo time, too). But nonetheless I do think Solly has improved - he's gone from "looks promising, worth his place" to being one of our stronger performers so far this season.

We've done the height thing to death, but worth recalling that we offloaded Alan Kimble too quickly (same height), and Ashley Cole is no giant. Bournemouth tried lumping it out to the left wing and gave up after 45 fruitless minutes, and you don't imagine teams at higher levels bothering with that.

I think Solly is playing his best football at the moment so yes he must be playing better than he did last season. I am certainly upgrading my assessments of his abilities game by game.
