    Blame Curbs.....
    For anything
  • In 2001 we weren't planning on dropping to L1 we were aspiring towards staying in the Prem

I liked their 16, Mendy I think it was - Pretty sure Chrissy would have noted him.

And everything. After all, if he was that good he'd have another job by now...

Wouldn't call playing for Chesterfield "making it"
  • Better than you or I did J Block.

Said on the commentary that Mendy was on trial with us during the summer. Obviously CP thought he could do better!

He wouldn't get in our team even now. Don't really see your point.
  • Did I say he would?

Can't I just be pleased for a guy who came thru the ranks, didn't make it here but still has had a decent career as a pro when he finally gets to play at the Valley?

Think Mendy had a few work permit issues before he officially signed for Chesterfield so maybe that affected Powells thinking, he looked decent but we have better imho.

As for Ford, nice to see players having decent careers after leaving Prem clubs at a young age but he struggled yesterday.

  • Better than you or I did J Block.

Debateable who earns more money though...

Good player is Ford. He's got a good engine on him.
  • True, always retains his focus.
  • A capricious buy.

There must've been a good reason for us to let him go. He must not have had the drive to succeed.
  • He's moved up a Ghia since then

He's regarded as something of a Maverick, a Marauder up the wing.
Anyone know what sign of the Zodiac he is?

  • I heard he was a bit of the party animal. Fiesta every night at his place.

  • Chesterfield chairman didn't want to pay a fee and asked the manager why

"COS he's WORTH it". He said
  • Used to box - Bantam weight, but Aspire d to greater things. Classic, Standard situation.
Needed Consul tation whilst in Transit. Spoke to his old school Prefect, who Probe'd him for information. and decided he didnt want to play for Ipswich as he hates East Anglia

He used to live on my ESTATE and drink in the local SALOON.

His girlfriend's a bit of a cougar, by all accounts, although hardly anyone has seen her as she tends to hide behind a Cortina whilst eating chocolate (Galaxy being the preferred choice).
