Really can't see this. Why would he finally get back to doing what he wants to do (running an academy) only to throw it all away to help them find a new manager?

And what would his role be once he's helped them find him?

Besides, Twitter not the most reliable of sources as I could post (if I had an account) that we're about to do a swap deal with Francis and Rooney, don't make it true.

Incidently, who posted this on twitter? someone from Forest or Charlton?

Francis for Rooney (the one at Gillingham) is a rumour then?  Where did you hear that?

I just knew as I wrote that some smart arse would say that.

Won't happen as he's better than frank. ;-)

but to be fair that tends to happen as people are just repeating what someone else has said.

This should be on the rumours site as that's exactly what it is - a silly rumour.

Reports today say that Paul Hart is about to be appointed Technical Director at Forest - looks like above rumours could be true. Shame for our academy.

  • The Mirror is suggesting we want a 6 figure compensation from Forest if he goes back to them.

Not sure how likely that would be.

Totally agree, but I think that the deal has been done. No point keeping someone who wants to leave.

from his point of view it will be alot bigger wedge, they are in a higher division plus its a higher profile job. Contracts mean little in football.  Take the money £100/200K is big money at this level and can be used against debt,Jan sales etc.

Very difficult one, obviously it's a step up in league and job-scope, but had high hopes that he'd build something good.  It's not a done deal, at the moment everyone is guessing.  If it does happen and we get a decent comp. package then that's all we can hope for.

will it really be much, if any, more? I didn't think they were flush with cash whereas judging by our summer spending spree we seem to be.

Would love to see Brownie involved at the club but that's my heart talking. We need to make sure it's someone who will be able to do the job and have the same vision as the board.  I'll be happy with whoever the board bring in if Hart leaves. They've made good appointments so far.

It's off according to SLP - we asked for too much compensation from Forest

A bit of stability is needed for the academy here - over the past 2 years some of the current U18 players have played under Steve Gritt, Steve Avory, Damien Matthew and now Paul Hart. All very good coaches, but they all have different methods and see different things in players. The U18's are doing well and the minute and hopefully this will continue should PH leave and a successor be appointed.

Not necessarily off, just postponed, while forest contemplate increased bid, Hart walk out and we have to fight for compensation

Th ejob he was appointed to was a long term job so you have to commit yourself to it if you sign up for it.

Good for the board if true.  Shows how much we value him and that Forest or anyone else will have to pay top dollar for our players or staff.

And is Technical Director that much of a bigger job than Academy Director?

The one reason I can see it being attractive to Hart is that he would be closer to what has been his home for many years.  No idea of his personal/family situation but it could be a factor.

But as Steve Kavanagh always says "believe it when it's on the OS"
