We warned, these lot will play to the very edge of football rules. When you tackle them they go down like the proverb 'sack of spuds' and every player, manager and coach go crazy at the ref appealing for a card of some kind. When we played them at the Galpharm last Saturday they showed very limited skill or creativity with their whole game built on hard work and organisation. Nothing wrong with the latter but clearly they've bullied their way to where they currently are. Their manager and coach are total gobshites and although they could do us a real favour by taking points from you I for one would like to see those two tossers found out for what they are!AceT (HTFC)0

Interesting insight. I'm sure we have had them watched and are prepared for their spoiling tactics , I just hope the ref is too.AceT (HTFC)

I went to watch Stevenage v Scunthorpe a couple of weeks ago as I live nearby & my girlfriend's nephew was a Boro mascot that day.
An uninspiring game with little quality, they lost 2-1. If they play anything like they did then, we've got no problem - 4-0 to the Addicks backed by a loud away following.
However, the pessimist within me predicts this will, as mentioned above, be more like a cup game (especially for them) which means a dour 1-1 (or worse!).

As long as we don't get involved with the scraps and keep our patience we will win so because of this I think Hayes will play and i am sure the management will be telling the players to keep cool. 2-0 to Valliants0

Stevenage seem to be a poor man's crazy gang but we are not great against physical sides, as shown against Tranmere, so this match could be our nemesis and unlucky 13.
A draw or better and I'll be happy.

Keep it tight, take the chances and walk away with three points. What I've seen of Charlton this season is that we are aiming under CP to develop a pragmatic approach, a tight defence that allows few chances and a combative midfield. I'd like to see a little more ambition and risk taking in attack but the nature of L1 is that taking feet off pedals and loss of concentration can hurt you.
I'd take a 2-0 or 2-1 away win with less than entertaining football. I hope after a few tricky away matches have been safely negotiated that the players don't relax against Stevenage and assume that it'll be easy.

Expecting a tight game whith every outcome possible. A win wil be doubly important as it would confirm ouresillience which will be important in achieving our aims this season. I'll go for a nervy 2-1 to us.0

Out of the many “I can’t believe we’re playing them in a league fixture” type scenarios we’ve had over the last few years, is this the most astonishing ? Dagenham last year was definitely up there, but I think Stevenage Borough might take the biscuit. Either way, both teams are in this league on the merit of what they’ve achieved recently so we have to take it seriously. On paper we should be dispatching them easily, but we’ve struggled against physical teams (Tranmere last week was a case in point) and from the sounds of it that’s exactly what Stevenage Borough are. An early goal for us will steady the nerves and hopefully take the wind out of their sails. If it remains tight for a long period then it’ll be about whether we have what it takes to dig deep and dig out a goal or two. I have faith and will go for a fairly comfortable 2-0 win. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
