Is a bad run about to start?

After a unexpected win and brilliant performance against Sheffield United away we go and play poor against Tranmere and we lose to Stevenage.

I really do hope we put in a performance against Carlisle at home otherwise it is going to be like two seasons ago when we start brilliantly but mess it up during the course of the season.

I do believe Powell will get us back up again but the signs are starting. Hope I am wrong........

We need to learn how to play against non-footballing teams. There are a few in this division !

    We'll smash Carlisle next weekend.
  • Bear in mind the two goals we have conceded in these last two games have come from huge deflections. Granted the performances haven't been great, but luck hasn't been with us either.

We are three games into a bad run - fortunately one was in the cup.  This is where the management team need to show that they have learnt from last season and can lift us out of a few negative results.

i find it weird how we can go from beating sheffield utd away 2-0 to losing 1-0 to stevenage, i dont really think CP should have changed the team..

When you loose a game like what sir Alex says it's all about how you react, I think we will learn alot about our new team vs carlisle next Saturday.

anyone that's surprised about us beating good teams and losing to crap can't have been supporting Charlton that long.

Next thing you'll be shocked at one of our former players scoring against us.

This has always been our problem and it frustrates me.

It just never gets rectified, even under Curbs we had this problem.

A team with fast wingers attacking wing backs leaves the middle exposed to play cut backs to players i.e stephens to come in and smash home. this is what this league is all about. i think we have a squad of great players but it would be nice to have 2 wingers with pace and balls.

for Stevenage read Dagenham and Redbridge last season or Northwich Victoria the year before.

The penalty we got against Tranmere was very soft though

We're lucky that next weekend we have Carlisle and not Preston or Huddersfield

    First
league defeat, not a good performance and a deflected goal so not
happy. Our level of performance wasn't how it should of been and needs
to be raised for next week, as that will be a start of a very big week
with 3 games. On to the next 1...
Glad they know it was a bad performance

Might've been soft but we should have had a penalty before that. It was given as a free kick instead!

N o this defeat although disapointing may make life a liitle easier, as the scalp of being the first team to beat us has gone.

Can see them playing exactly the same way as tranmere did . And also they picked up a convincing 3-0 win at yeovil.

    - That's a bit disappointing.  It should be "Our level of performance wasn't how it should HAVE been..."
  • No.

We are just about to finish a bad run and go on another good one.

  • Its football. We are Charlton. We'll win some games we shouldn't and lose some games we should.  Just like Barcelona do each season.

Not gonna piss my pants about it until it's mathmatically impossible that we wont be escaping this league this year and even then as long as we finish in the play offs, whilst i wont be happy it will have met my expectations.

CP has lost one game in 14, we've had some dodgy and unconvincing performances but are top of the league.  He's a new manager and will make mistakes, hopefully learning from them as will the new team.

If you had offered me top of the league with one loss after 14 games at the start of the season i would have taken it. Not gonna have a wankfest every time we win this season but by the same measure i wont be getting the Morrisey albums out everytime we play poorly or dont win.

If you expect to play well and win every game then perhaps get a Man utd shirt or buy Fifa 12 and play it on easy.

He might talk a lot of sense but haven't we played 13 games not 14?
