I am surprised to see that little Apoel Nicosia are top of Group G in the Champions League. However, does anyone remember the time they came to The Valley? We won 9-0. I think Rodney Green scored a hat trick.

Apoel had played the evening before at Arsenal and drawn 1-1, which our result even better.

Len Glover scored a few that night. Thought it might have been three, but I don't recall two hat-tricks.

If I remember rightly one of their players wore spectacles and broke them

Remember the game & scoreline but nothing about the scorers. If pressed would say a year or two later but such a long time ago can't be sure.

Couldn't swear to it, but seem to remember that part of the shock result against Arsenal was that Apoel managed to get a goal.
