More Downton Abbey madness
Mr chief servant man announces that Germany will never become a republic. Seconds later the posh bloke comes in and announces that the war is over. Surely, though, Germany became a republic two days before the war ended - on 9th November.
More seriously though, when bandage face is talking to trusting aristocrat woman, a CHIFFCHAFF can clearly be heard singing in the background. What would this summer visitor be doing singing in England in mid November.
Must try harder.

1) The cease fire/armistace was announced 2 days before the war ended. People were still killing each other right up until 11.00am on 11/11/18.
2) Heard no Chiffchaff, but possibly a Sturnus Vulgaris which quite often mimicks other birds.

Thank goodness the war is over and that there will be no more hardship at Downturn. The family can return to having their seven course meals, their Ladyships can give up working down t'pit or driving trams and new staff will replace all those lost in the conflict . It will seem that nothing has changed at all.0
