His second goal celebration looked very suspect.

Di Canio got slaughtered for doing something similar whilst at Lazio.

Surprised the press havent picked up on this one

Thought it looked like a nazi salute, but have just seen it again and its the wrong arm. Take it back.

You're not the only one who thought it: http://www.businessinsider.com/did-robin-van-persie-aresenal-use-nazi-salute-2011-10
I can see what you mean

Changed my mind again. It was his right arm. That is well dodgy.

Leave him alone !! He's one of my favorute footballers , i honestly don't think it looked like the nazi salute. More like the usain bolt gone wrong maybe ?.
  • Piss off.
No Dutchman would give a Nazi salute under any circumstances
  • If you believe he was doing the Nazi salute as a Dutchman in front of millions viewers worldwide, then you're trying too hard to find problems with people.

I can see why you are suprised the press havent picked up on a non event in order to sell more copies or airtime.
It doesnt take much to see how DiCanio was celebrating in an utterly different style,

I was in the pub and me and Tim Wiseman both thought he'd done the nazi salute, though not on purpose.

You can't deny it does look like it. What about if John Terry had done it ?

Don't play the laughing boy. There's only two things I hate in this
world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the
    Dutch.

Ok, having googled the Di Canio incident, perhaps harsh to compare the two.

Regardless, it still looks very dodgy.

Didn't he just mimic wiping something off his shoulder? I blame his oddly long arms for making it look like anything suspicious.

    Definitely a Nazi salute.

I'm adding 'fascist' to the list of reasons to dislike him. Cheat being another and 'no smoke witout fire' being the third.

It looked more like a Roman Gladiator salute to me, admittedly the Nazis took the idea of Heil Hitler from Hail Caeser and loved the banners, eagles, helmeted legions and all that stuff,  but are we not all a little bit too over sensitive nowadays? Every facet of language and action is analysed to destruction by pundits and observers who are well paid for doing sweet f*** all other than criticise, demonise and find fault where none exists ... get a life methinks

Few Arsenal fans on other forums saying it was supposed to be the dirt off your shoulder move, I have to admit it does look a bit suspect.

It was blatantly the dirt of the shoulder thing, you lot are so not down with the kids!

He actually did it off of both shoulders just after that clip ends!

He's clearly a Nazi. Lock him up.

I'm also sure I saw Iain Dowie goose-stepping in the technical area once, so he can get locked up too. And anyone with a German Shepherd Dog and a silly tash. And Uwe Rossler.
