Team on top at Hallowe'en...

On Hallowe'en in 1974, Charlton were 5th in the third division, Blackburn 2nd and Plymouth 9th.  All three got promoted. Preston were top and were beaten on the last day at the Valley, finishing 9th.

In 1980, Charlton were 2nd in the third division, with Rotherham 4th and Barnsley 8th.  All three got promoted. Chesterfield were top and finished 5th.

This year, Charlton are top.  Third time lucky for the Hallowe'en leaders?
