Rare and old Charlton Mags, Papers and Books - For Sale

Despite having edged over £1800 in our auctions thanks to all the donations and bidders we still have a lot more to come.  News on how the minibuses are coming very soon I hope but any money raised will go back into the Club in some form or another.

At the moment the idea has been suggested by SE7toSG3 that a memorial be put up to the three known Club members who died in the first world war.  Once the £2k has been reached how would Lifers feel about some of the auction money going towards that project?   A yes or no to gauge people thought would be very useful.

But back to the auctions.  Like it says on the tin some unusual and rare reading material.   Four separate lots up for auction.  Winners will need to add postage or be willing to collect.  Auction ends 5.00pm Tuesday 8th November.

Lot A   A copy of the November 1970 Evening Standard which featured Charlton.  19 pages including a double page Colour team photo in the middle.  Loads on articles, interviews and pictures all about the Addicks.    Yes there was a time when the Standard knew who we were.  A few tears and scruffy edges but otherwise in very good condition considering it is newspaper and over 40 years old.

Lot B   Two different 90s attempts at producing a South London  multi-club football mag.  The Beautifal Game is A4 with a colour cover while inside it looks very similar to Voice of the Valley.  This shouldn't be a surprise as it was produced by Airman Brown and team.  This is the first (and only) edition from 1993 of what could have been an interesting mag.  Excellent condition.    The other mag "South East London SportsScene" lasted to at least the 10th edition (which this is from 1995) and covered more sports but again majored on us and the Spanners.   On newspaper print it is in good condition.

Lot C  Bartram Saves the Day.  Wonderful bound softcover A4 book which tells the history of the Club and World War 2 through the eyes of a young Charlton fan from Bexleyheath.  Mint Condition copy of this book produced as part of the Club's centenary in 2005 it is full of great pictures and stories.

Lot D  The Mercury Championship special Edition.  Full of pictures of that season, Curbs and the rest of that great squad.  There's even an interview with some full back called Powell.  Whatever happened to him?   A little tatty around the edges and has been folded once but otherwise in good nick.
