todays game was fanstastic. the only question i have is how on earth was the preston keeper allowed to stay on the pitch after the foul that gave away the penalty. awful challenge that sent kermo head over heels and he didnt even get a yellow. and then later in the match hamer gets booked for kicking the ball away. just slightly confused.

And how did Smith stay on the pitch after the two footer on Solly in the 2nd minute?

i dont think grabbing a players leg is quite a red card offence

Can't believe he stayed on. I hope the ref wasn't influenced by the fact that they didn't have a keeper on the bench.

imagine what the score could have been if they had a defender in goal

Or the guy that stuck an elbow in Kermit's face late on

but hang on a minute, the keeper was pretty poor anyway, maybe a defender would have been an improvement.
  • Keeper should have got a yellow for the penalty

Are you joking? Kermit was clean through one on one and sent flying. It was an absolute blatant red card.
  • Keeper should've gone not a doubt about it, their tackle on solly was close to a red , Kermit should've been booked for a similar but not as reckless tackle late in the 1st

all round the ref was shite

Ref was very generous in that respect -but have no complaints - I prefer to beat 11 than 10.
  • thought he got it right, kerm was never going to get to it to score. it was a foul penalty given
  • ref was garbage today.  Only reason more people arn't going nuts is cause we won so comfortably.  It is funny that after the loss to Stevenage everyone was very upset about the ref but today's was the worst I have seen for a long time.
  • I was absolutely banboozled when their keeper didn't get sent off.  It wasn't even debatable was it?!

I think he didnt get sent off because Kerm and ball were going wide of goal. Foul yes. Yellow probably yes but red ? Not in my opinion. If we hadn't have won the penalty then Kerm wouldn't have scored.

Ref only gave the penalty after checking with the linesman, so don't know if he didn't have a clear view of it?

Having said that, I didn't think it was an automatic red card.

Just watching on Skysports news, should have gone for two footed studs up lunge forget about goal scoring opportunity, ref bottled it

Thank God he didn't get sent off otherwise we'd have had the usual we only won because they had 10 men.

If we take Huddersfield apart anything close to that I'm going to be asking Paddy Power for me winnings!

Spot on in my opinion, should have been a yellow but not a red.  Hamer's was harsh.
  • If you make that sort of challenge in the centre circle it's a straight red. For some reason, when a goalkeeper poll-axes someone, they only get punished if the player was running in the direction of the goal.

Maybe it looked worse than it was from where I was sitting - but to not even give him a yellow card for completely taking Kermorgant out was baffling

Covering defender. Not a red but how he wasn't booked is baffling

Exactly what I thought at the time. (Although we might have gone on to win 9-0, which wouldn't have hurt.)
  • That the keeper stayed on was testament to how poor the officials were today. The way that Kermorgant was up ended was a red card offence  and some of the other challenges on our players were unbelievable and then to book Hamer for sending the ball back in the general direction of the half way line was silly.  Was it me or was the lino that was subbed replaced as 4th official for the second half as well.

The "subbed" Lino looked pretty ill, so seems reasonable that he was replaced form the second half.

How long did it take the new lino to "warm up"? What a helmet.

Poor ref today. Would have been interesting if the keeper had saved Jacko's pen and then they made it two one. Good job our class showed though
