    I heard when i was down the training ground on Saturday that his contract has been terminated by mutual consent.He has gone back to Spain.

    Shame if it hasn't worked out but thankfully things are going better than we could have hoped even without him. It'd be nice to hear something official - unless of course there's nothing to report.

    I understand that, but if he's still here, he obviously ranks behind Darel Russell and Bradley Pritchard, which puts him well down the pecking order.

    Actually the reply by the club is neither an acceptance of the suggestion nor a rebuttal.  It asks a question whilst leaving the impression that the suggestion has no basis.  My reading of that response is that it is indeed true and Alonso will be spending Xmas in Spain.  Fortunately our midfield (well Hollands at least) is fit and playing well.

    As you say it is neither an acceptance nor a rebuttal so it could be true or not.  As I said context is everything

    I would still hope he may come good as Powell said we should not be caught short over Xmas. He has played over 100 games in La Liga.

    He could play against Carlisle if he does not and there are no injuries then I agree the most likely outcome is a return to Spain
