Vetere departs

Posted on: Wed 30 Nov 2011

Matt Wright reports

It is with regret that the club announced on Wednesday the departure
of Jeff Vetere as technical director of Charlton Athletic Football
Company Limited.

The club would like to thank Jeff for his contribution to Charlton's
good start to the season, and wishes him all the best for the future.

=============

Jeff Vetere has part of the management team that has got us 7 points lead at top of league one. The players brought into the club for the majority part are excellent or show great promise. Jeff Vetere has been a part of that - I wish him well for the future.

Oh...I must admit I don't know how big a blow this might be.

Anyone know the background to this?

Cheers for that Tango Flash. You are probably right to kill this thread.  Someone should change the bloody title of the other thread though.

I put up a different thread as I think it is worth a distinct discussion and
thoughts on what JF has achieved at the club and what impact his leaving
    (and why) may have.

Please comment on the other thread as in TFs post above.

I suggest that he was brought in on a short term basis as a personnel consultant and player negotiator and his job has been successful as evidenced by the team's current strength and success. Good luck to Prince Jeff wherever he goes next. For my part he'll be remembered for doing a great job for my club.
  • Sounds like bad news. All the best to him in his futures endeavours.

I though this thread was going to be about Prince (the musician) dying.

none of us are exactly sure of what he did. I mean, how much did he know about Dale Stephens or Royce Wiggins. Probably not a lot imo, but may be he was involved re negotiating the deals etc.
