As for the allegations, it's sexual assault, in front of people who have been evacuated after a fire drill and not rape. There would have been plenty of eye witnesses, which isn't always the case with rape.
Women cant rape men. The offence of rape requires a willy to be inserted, however briefly into the mouth, bum or lady place. Therefore women are physically unable to commit this crime.0 -

I know this isn't a thread about the jury system but its days have to be numbered I'm afraid. When we have lengthy cases collapsing because the juror is texting their boyfriend in the public gallery or doing homework on the defendent on Google it cannot continue much longer. Technology is going to make it impossible to ensure there's no prior knowledge and the costs involved in retrials alone justify it IMO.
Take for example the Lapland case that was thrown out recently at a cost of £100k+ to the local authority taking it. This is likely to result in 2-3 officers (friends of mine actually) losing their jobs through no fault of their own.
As for Hughes we'll just have to see. I suspect that it'll come to nothing in the end, but if it does he deserves a fair trial. Then they can find him guilty...
I'd be worried that at the very least he seems to have got himself in a situation where this could even be alledged the night before a game and presumably alcohol didn't play a part as it seems to in most of these cases.

Rape is a statutory offence. It is created by section 1 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
So no, a woman can not rape a man. However any such action would still be an offence under the Secual Offences Act.Rape

If he's guilty then I hope he gets everything he deserves but that is for the courts to decide. That said he is one of the most despicable human beings around a truly nasty piece of work who appears to have no remorse or humility about what he has done in the past.0

So why is everyone going on about innocent until proven guilty? Save it for the court.

Sorry but the gay rape thing is so exaggerated by the media. How many gays do you know? Off the top of my head I can think of 4 I know well and loads of others I've met. All lovely people, but NONE of them would be capable of throwing a punch, let alone raping a MAN. Unless there's some secret society, the idea of it is exaggerated at best. I know thats gonna sound like a massive generalisation and might even offend some gays but you can only go on what you've experienced and unless there's about 10 gay rapists going round doing the whole country, it's a myth.0

A mate of mine used to work for one of the well-known law firms up town.
