Just spoke to a mate of mine who has links to Orient, reckons Evina will join Orient on loan for the rest of the season in Jan. Apparantly were going to re-sign Youga until end of season and he is going to cover both right/left back so Powell wants Evina to get a bit of first team action

Hmm IF true this is risky imo. Would rather we had good cover than worry about players getting first team football.

Shame for Evina that Wiggins is doing so well

just let Orient sign Youga then. Rather Evina stayed and Youga hasn't played since November 2009 so we cannot rely on him and personally I don't think he's that good anyway. Hope this is rubbish.

Evina will replace Wiggins when he's sold to Spurs for 3m

Yer I completely agree but Powelly must feel that Youga would be good enough to provide back-up. It's not a dead cert but he just said Orient received a call cos Evina wants to stay in London and their interested. Youga could be signed as a right back back up as Parnaby is out for a few months. Don't mean to sound like I have loads of connections but my little brother used to play youth team footie with Harry Lennon and he told him that Parnaby is not training anymore cos the injury he picked up leaves him out for like 4 months, he might come back in March though

I think I'd rather anyone in the entire squad played right back before Youga.

    Can't see this happening.
  • am i right in thinking Youga has played CB as well?

If it happened I could see us bringing in a loan to cover the left back place if Wiggins got injured.

Also Jackson can cover there, especially as we now have Ephraim who I get the feeling might be here till the end of the season.

As my mate is pretty well connected, I can safely say the call has taken place. But its not 100% done, the club were merely trying to get interest up before January. But I agree that I wasn't actually happy when he told me.

Don't mind if it brings him on, can't we recall him if there is an injury to Wiggy?

The O's sold Charlie Daniels and have veteren spanner Tony Craig on loan currently so this could be logical . We need to keep Evina  happy and playing first team footie.

If it is a season loan in January we could not get him back , but a three month loan from February onwards would count as a 'temporary loan' and he could be recalled after the first month.

A fit Youga would add to our options at the back.

A fit Youga could play alongside Lord Lucan at the back.

Lord Lucan doesn't exist. Don't you mean Cory Gibbs?

I say good idea, if hes gonna get games at Orient and we'll have youga as back up for wiggins then its all good and a good piece of buisness from SCP
  • I don't think this will happen even though it would be good of Evina could get regular first team football.

This is a real (and worrying) possibility.

Wiggy is Prem class - no doubt about it.

Digs out the old almost forgotten rose tinted specs:

Wiggy will be playing Championship next year, and Prem the year after.

    ;o)

Sorry, but I disagree. The start of the year he got injured he was arguably our best player. But I agree that he will struggle to come back now.

Agree with Damo and Dazzler.  Youga was absolute quality in the last season he played.  He played half of the league games that season; we averaged exactly 2 points per game with Youga in the team and 1.71 without him.  Coincidence?  I doubt it.

In this league Youga did well and we missed his pace down that side. Wiggins has finally shown the difference between a quick attacking left back and a solid "did nothing wrong" player like Basey or Borrowdale. Youga's not as good but pace especially helped Bailey down that side.

He's not played in over 2 years though, and add to that if he's lost his pace he won't be the same player. Not that he was anything more than a good League 1 player to begin with.

As for Wiggins he's not Prem standard yet but he's one with the potential, I'm no worried about losing him so soon after signing him.
