been on Powell's wanted list since the summer.

Perfect cover for BWP, think he is going to be good this kid.
  • Be a good signing if we get him in
  • Would be more than good enough cover for BWP.

i reckon Schlupp will go on to play at a very high level.

  • If Leicester go up we could benefit from a season long loan or even persuade them to sell. ?
  • C'mon Geoff  Jeff , you know it makes sense son.
  • A Leicester fan on their forum said a few weeks ago that Schlupp was coming to us on loan, would be a good signing if it happens.

Would be a fantastic signing if we can get him in our own terms ie we don't have to play him in the starting XI every week if we don't want to do so.
  • looks quite possible, personally think we need a new striker but is he better than BWP and big Yann?

Better? I dunno, but personally I'd be very happy if we signed someone as promising, young and quick as Schlupp and he be worse than BWP or Kermit. I think the plan is to get someone to push those guys.
  • I don't think he will come if he will be sitting on the bench he is all ready doing that a Leicester so would he want to come to CAFC?
  • I heard a whisper to this effect from someone at the club.

Hang on Schluup.  Schluupy Hang On!

Not sure what the benefit to him is though: It'd be very difficult to see anyone coming in and being a first choice, so what's the benefit to a youngster looking to get 1st team football?  Dozens of teams could provide him that.

He's not getting on the bench. Leicester are currently using Howard, Nugent, Beckford and Gallagher.

I'm sure Cort was not promised a 1st team place, nor Ephraim who was fortunate that JJ got injured.  It seems "come and fight for your place" seems to be the mantra to loanees

I'd better start working on my Agbonglahor song just in case..................
  • Torres on loan ?? could come in and possibly push BWP and Yann for place in the team, as long as we only have to pay 0.01% of the wages

Good post. We all recall that old debate when Pardew/Parkinson seemed to have  dozens of ueless loanees cluttering up the team. Some tried to characterise it as an  argument against loan players per se, but I don't think it was ever that. It was against the indiscriminate way they were being used and the fact that most of them weren't very good and some of them were patently unfit!

Powell seems to have exactly the right approach to loans and he doesn't seem to offer guarantees to the loaning club that their players are going to get an automatic starting place.
