Depends on which version you're comparing it with. Championship manager 96? yeah, massively. FM11? not so much....................

Football manager 2009 was the last version i had. Although it was good i just believed the game was to easy and predictable.

Decided to start this one off with welling as I want a real challenge...............

Anyone know if there's a decent face pack out for this version yet, and if so where to get it?
Welling? No! You need to start higher :-|
Start lower! The Swindon researcher has extended the leagues down to the 8th tier (Ryman Division 1 South)

Done the lower league thing on FM10. Took Charlton Athletic Community FC as far as the BS south. My aim was to try to catch up with C.A.F.C but couldn't quite manage it. Good fun though..........

Does the community actually exist on the game? I'm amazed by your commitment. I've got all day 2moz to get stuck into Shrewbury, will try and sign benson on loan if I can!

  • I'm finding this one tough, very tough, I've been sacked twice so far as Charlton boss, to be their manager 3 times seems a little rude! :-0

Preseason went alright. A 2-0 defeat to the reserves and 3-0 to Cardiff was followed by a 3-0 win against Morton and a 4-0 win against Welling. Then went on to lose 3-1 against Ipswich, with our final friendly fixture being a much better 3-0 win over Coventry.

Been dealt a pretty tough opening to the season though with Huddersfield (A), West Ham (A), Preston (H) & MK Dons (A). Came back from one down away at the Galpharm to take a well deserved point and managed do the same on the break at Upton Park before the referee awarded a dodgy penalty and West Ham eventually ran out 3-1 winners. We deserved something from that game but never mind, ONE AIM this virtual season.

    Shrewsbury career started decent.

Signed Stern John,Ben Amos (loan) and Ruben Bozer from us.

Sitting 11th unbeaten in the league, quite a few draws. Just knocked Carlisle out of st johns paint trophy.

Onwards and upwards. Want to play a diamond but 4-4-2 is easier to manage at this level

Won the league as Charlton with 101 points, with BWP scoring a comedy 38 goals. Managed to get Ben Marshall on loan in january and he scored 7 in 15. Waggy had an absolute stormer of a season and won L1 player of the year. Pretty much burgled Sheff Utd in jan as well as they were accepting all bids. I'd recommend Harry Maguire and Matthew Lowton at the back

    Nice one. Addiction is starting.
  • Was sacked as Rotherham manager but have resurrected my career at Eastbourne Borough. I think I might be addicted. Oh dear.

Don't think they're on the actual game but someone made a patch that went down to (about) the 12th level and included all those little clubs (players were naturally generated). They are found in the Kent county premier division.

    Joke of a game.

Started with Charlton. Had 3 red cards and 3 disallowed goals in my first 6 games. BWP failed to score once in 10 games.

Resigned after a 5-1 defeat at Carlisle in which they had 5 shots on target compared to my 12. They scored 4 goals in 8 mins just after half time.

    Something aint right.

You ain't alone mate im awful at it to can't get a win from anywhere but i suppose its all part of the fun.

Would be pointless if you win every game.

Finished 2nd in the Champ in my second season, now playing in the Prem but lost my first two. Didn't spend too much money as relegation looks close to inevitable. Did beat Bradford though, so there's that

Have to get your tactics right, play to your strengths, e.g paced striker, ball over the top direct so he can run on to it.
  •

The first season I signed Mellor (160k), Nathan Baker,Andros Townsend and Dean Parrett on loan and Marcel Seip on a free. Mellor and Seip played most games and the other three were squad players.

Then in the championship I signed six youngsters to go into my youth team and then go out on loan. I also resigned Parrett on loan and Tomas Kalas on loan to partner Morrison and then a few free transfers including Watt,Drury,Kilbane,Priskin and Sonko.

I am now in the Prem and after two weeks of the transfer window I have signed Kalas for (2.3m), Pilkington (850k), Parrett (275k),Caddis,Papac, Lee-Chung-Yong and Scharner on free transfers. The more expensive signings are George Boyd (1.3m), Shane Long (5m), Steve Morison (850k) and Wilfried Zaha (3m).
