His dad was the same sort of player, he's not out there to do all the running about he is out there purely to score goals.
So what if he's having a bad patch, you don't become a bad striker overnight!
I just hope bringing him off early yesterday isn't a sign that he is on the move In this window. Surely not?

He isn't the problem at all, a great bit of defending prevented him getting a goal last night that other players couldn't. He'll get back in the groove sooner rather than later and last night the wrong game to judge him on.

BWP as a person is not a problem. But to get promoted we need him to score goals and he isn't doing that at the moment. I'm picking up puzzlement and concern more than anything else.0

It just seemed that he wasn't putting in as much effort yesterday as the rest of the team.
This left Chris Solly have to deal with both their left winger and left back, as Wright-Phillips wasn't working hard enough on the right to help Solly out.
Pritchard worked hard and tracked back, which contributed to us looking much better after the change was made.

He (BWP) shouldn't have been left on and put in that position - he's a goalscorer (or not at the moment) not a water carrier!

I'd rather he didn't go chasing down every over-hit through ball, just the ones he thinks he has a decent chance of winning. Why waste energy trying to flatten every blade of grass on the pitch? It looks good to the fans but is a massive waste of enerrgy. When you are down to ten men the idea should be to play things narrow, keep possession and not stretch the team out and get caught on the counter atack.0

Don't remember all our previous top goalscorers lower down the leagues doing all the ugly stuff - Firmani, Leary, Killer, Mendonca or Hunt? Still perhaps the memory is fading.

Jesus. reading this, I had to check that I wasn't on the wendy's site by mistake. We lose our 2nd game of the season and it's doom and gloom and frantic searching for the coveted scape-goat. Every striker goes through a period of a dry spell and this is his. I thought he looked okay last night, never gave up and was more involved than Kermogant, who (IMO) had a quiet game.

Not the kind of player you want on the pitch when your'e down to ten men. He's a poacher who comes alive when goal scoring opportunities present. Hopefully Powell learnt another lesson in his short managment career yesterday. Until now he has always learnt from previous mistakes, which is why he's going to be a great manager.

He looks out of salts and needs a rest, IMHO. Have heard that he doesn't train too much because of an old injury so maybe that's the problem. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench for the Brentford match with Clarke and Kermo up front0

With a fully- fit Jackson, Stephens (his injury seemed to have restricted him in his last few games) and Green in midfield, BWP will get around 25 this season. our midfield has been depleted recently of creativity and BWP has been feeding off scrap.

How much do some of you know about playing football. We were a man down after four minutes and Orient were tactically aware enough that the way to take advantage was to up the tempo and stretch the game by switching across the back constantly. With Yann dropping deeper this left BWP impossible situation. He either chased everything down and be knackered by half time or bided his time so that he could still be effective if he was able to latch onto a ball. That was the exactly way HE should have played. The tactics of who were left on to do the chasing were wrong and that is only down to CP.
