One of the greatest female Blues and Soul singers of the last 50 years has passed away aged 73.

  • Still have her storming duet with Sugar Pie De Santo, " Do I Make Myself Clear" on a Chess 45. A huge Mod floor filler in the 60's.
  • sad news. i brought her greatest hits only a few weeks back. such a voice. RIP.

    Only knew who she was because of Avicii, but hearing alot about her since

  • Sad news. UTube also has a great live performance of "I'd Rather Go Blind" with Dr John; a classic performance.
  • They just don't make voices like hers anymore. A true legend and when you consider the prejudice she must of had to overcome in her early career than a title well worth.
    A truly sad loss.

    Wonderful singer, superb voice and a fantastic catalogue of songs. So sad to see her pass away. RIP
