Some years back a friend of mine told his girlfriend he was taking her out for a slap up meal. She spent ages getting ready. He turned up at her house, and they then drove off for the meal....... he took her to the old caravan that used to be parked on the A2 nr Dartford Heath. They did the best bacon sandwiches but I don't think it was what she had in mind.
The missus is going to moan at you until you pop your clogs, whether you go to the football or not. You might as well ignore her and go to the footie. If you are married, not much is likely to happen in the evening anyhow.0 -

there's your get-out..say you haven't forgotten last year and although you didn't say anything at the time, you were deeply hurt by the fact she didn't get you anything and that by being with her this Valentine's will bring back too many painful memories & you need time by yourself on the 14th to reflect on your relationship.0 -
