Why didn't you tell him that you were an out or work comedian looking for work and he might have offered you a job on Life's too short?

Saying that, I don't think any comedians worked on that programme.

Did you ever meet Barry from Eastenders?

Before Barry left Eastender did you do all his washing, ironing and picking up his dry-cleaning?

Does he have a normal double bed or is it king/queen size?

His 'persona' is just that, a persona. Some of his tweets are great as he enjoys actually taking on people that have a pop at him...lambs to the slaughter!

I think he deserves our thanks for upsetting not only the pampered Hollywood set, but also the army of the offended who deserve to wound up. It's nobody's right to tell you what you can and can't laugh at and I hope he keeps on pushing their buttons...he is one of the few people who seems to still care about standing up for the principle of free speech as it is steadily eroded by the unelected arbiters of public morals that busy themselves looking for things to be affronted by.

Gervais is a bit of a marmite man. I cant make my mind up, but i did love the office, for his cringeworthy behaviour.

As for his comedy being controversial. I go to see live comedy at my local comedy club and see some of the best and not so great comedians trying to make a living. If you are easily offended I doubt, you'd enjoy stand up. But for me i think it's the best value £5 entertainment you can get. It's the only time i've genuinely let out some wee at a funny line. A laugh really does make you feel good.

For those that haven't tried it, just think about the diffence between watching football on TV or live. It's the same difference with comedy.

    Stand-up for a fiver?
Where is that? Would love that - brilliant value - or is this a Sunday night try-out deal?
Spent three months on those, dying painfully on my arse - so very very distressing - for me, my ego and most distressingly of all, the audience.
you know its bad whne the heckles stop and the punters just stare at their feet!
  • i left before extras was filmed, the only part of the office i have any claim to is the scene where tim builds a wall of box files on his desk so he dosnt have to look at gareth, me and Duncan (RG's agent) were in an open plan office so we built a wall out of files and vhs tapes to give us some privacy, ricky thought this was hillarious and put it in the series.

Liked the Office but was not so taken with Extras.
An actress friend said Ricky was 'difficult' to work with but he sure is a winner. Hats off.

Not local enough for most of you! Some may have visited when going to Hillsborough.
