Can anyone tell me when the 1905-2005 centenary shirt came out, was it for the 2004-5 season or the 2005-6 season? My reason for asking is that I have one with a lot of the team's signatures and the players have put their shirt numbers by their signatures and I'm trying to work out who they are, the only ones that are legible are Curbs as he printed his name underneath, and Eddie Firmani, who was on a visit at the time, who has a legible signature. It was given to me at the end of the season, but was that 2005 or 2006 ?

No I don't want to sell it.

I've just got back from the gym when I was proudly sporting my Centenary shirt !

I think it was the 2004-5 season but I'm sure someone will know for sure.

That photo was taken on The House Of Parliament terrace, how random....
  • It was my half-century on 30 Apr 05. We were due to play Man Utd.
    On 30 Apr 55 CAFC 0-4 PNE
On 01 May 05 (put back a day for TV) CAFC 0-4 Man U - plus ca change, eh ....
That day a party of us had the top-drawer hospitality deal in the West Stand. Many Charlton celebs were there that day for a special presentation on the pitch, incl Sir Clive. After the match had the great fortune to meet Eddie Firmani and Theo Foley amongst others. That should account for your shirt, LL

I'll make him a cuppa everyday if he wants.
Last minute curler into the corner, and CAFC fans kept in for 15 minutes after the game, with the singing echoing all over Croydon.

Don't get too many memories better than that.

One of the worst quality shirts I've ever owned. Really disappointed, only wore it once, then put it back in the box.

YES! I was just about to say that. I hated that thing
  • nice shirt, i enjoyed the slightly smaller sponser but they should have taken it off all together - no idea what happened to mine :(

This. Liked the shirt, hated wearing it.

Well then you missed out on his cracking goals at Pompey, Boro and Newcastle.
At his best when Murphy was around and showed glimpses of what he was capable of if he'd been surrounded by better players,

Don't worry I'm sure the club will get the next one right.

as has been said the quality was poor. the sponsers logo 'Allsports', half of the white lettering has worn away. itchy as well and the frabric was far to thin to last.
still got mine, but i dont wear it anymore.

I found it very comfortable but repeated washes took its toll on the all sports transfer and dates. Think the material was too elasticy for the transfers.

Ironically enough my centenary shirt has held much better than my other shirts. The current one has some of KRBS peeling off, I've had to demote it to use only for when I play footie.

Awful design, poor quality, have both of them, the black one is brand new unworn. Ive always thought we should have had a really nice kit to celebrate the 100 years and someone came up with this crap.

It's the only shirt I have been able to buy so far, so I'm proud to still wear it.
  • Mine is still in the box in the wardrobe.

Slightly changing tack but do you remember when a club put the names of season ticket holders in the shirt pattern. Always thought this was a good idea as would encourage more sales if people knew their name was on it, wven if it was under the armpit. Would have been a nice touch for centenery shirt to carry the names of ex players but box was a nice touch.

Utd did that a few years back, I think it looked quality
