This cycling malarky.. can we have a mini Grand prix?

The tour de france is taking place this weekend and it will prove to be a great event, Why can't we have a mini grand prix.I think it would be just as popular as the TDF and as a 1 off event would attract a big audience, why has this never been done.

    Sure,have to drive on 'em every day,Good enough for cycling, then good enough for a grand prix.
