The defender apologised after the game, but claimed Kermit kicked him to the ground, and then when confronted, headbutted him first. I wonder if the FA will investigate our man?

  • It would depend on the video and, given the fact that it was not a TV match then there may be no video available of the incident, probably not if the usual CAFC Player quality of coverage is anything to go by.

The Referee and his Assistan Referee's called it as they saw it and it will hard to change that.

Normally I'd say sour grapes but considering it's Kermorgant I imagine that's exactly what happened. He should rob banks the amount he gets away with. If he did get caught he could probably pin it on someone else as well. Take note Alan Smith, that's how a proper b****rd plays

So Kermit kicked him and headbutted him? Blimey, amazing how we all missed that. Surprised he didn't claim he nicked his motor as well.
  • he kicks who he likes, he kicks who he likessss, that man kermorgant her kiicks who he likes! Fast becoming a legend in my eyes!
  • McKenzie shouldn't have been on the pitch and Kermo (if he did) wouldn't have been looking for a bit of retribution. The referee should have done his job and sent McKenzie off for leading with his elbow and taking Kermo out near the west stand touchline.

Not everybody missed it Off_it fortunately though the ref and lino did. McKenzie wasn't kicked to the ground but he was kicked and Kermorgant did throw his head back into his face. Lets hope we lose or 'accidentally' wipe the recording of the incident.

Kermogant is the sort of player we would hate if he didn't play for us- but he does and we love him.

Considering the offence he actually got booked for he did exactly the same at least one one other occasion..... so it should have been his 2nd yellow card not his first at the time of the booking. No sympathy from me

Well a decent ref would have given the pen long before that incident, as the ball was coming in Kermo had the run on him, so he grabbed him around the neck from behind.

was it Mckenzie that fould kermo in the box beforehand cfgs.. if so then it would not only have been a pen but a sending off as well (well you would think it would be)

Kermogant kicked Mckenzie (a bit Beckham like), whilst Kermy was on the ground & McKenzie was standing. When Kermy got up McKenzie grabbed Kermy round the throat & pushed his forehead against Kermy.

McKenzie had to go & as others have said could/should have already been off for 2 previous offences.

Kermy should have got a yellow for the original kick.

whatever Yann did, McKenzie should have enough about him to think..."I'll let him get away with that one, it's 0-0, we're doing ok and I don't want to let my team mates/management/travelling support down".

    some footballers are utterly brainless.

said to my mate after McKenzie got booked that he had that demeanour about him, as if he was "looking for it"

Looks like he's got a bit of history with sending offs and MK fans want him gone

It's funny what people actually see. Mckenzie actually fell to the ground after clearing the ball. He grabbed Yanns leg as he ran away. McKenzie for some reason was still fuming and did a little stumble as he got up and went head to head with Yann. McKenzie moved his head forward which in my book means he was the aggressor. He then grabbed Yann round the neck but pretended it was some sort of hug. The linesman saw all this which is why when the ref radioed through to him McKenzie got a straight red and Yann nothing. McKenzie may well apologies

Unbelievable that McKenzie lost his head in his own box.
What sort of brainless cretin does that?

    Well, McKenzie, obviously.

Anyone who's played the game knows that you just bide your time, and get your own back later ....

    ;o)

I never saw the incident as I was following play but strangely enough I had just said to my son that the centre half had already been sent off earlier in the season and was a typical hot headed take no prisoners defender from north of the border, no offence meant to any of my fellow Charlton fans of Scottish decent.

Sorry for being a thicko, but was the ball "live" when Yann was head-butted?

Did we get the penalty for the head-butt?

In all my years following CAFC I don't think we have ever won a penalty for a head-butt before!

Well I don't know, but my guess would be that if you headbutt someone in the box that constitutes a foul, so they give a penalty

We have all played with people who have anger management issues - at least MacKenzie admits he has a problem but I would be very disapointed in him if he was one of ours. Still he isn't so nothing to worry about.

That is exactly how I saw it. Yan was lucky to stay on and may be hearing from the FA.

I am not sure why people feel the ball needs to be in play. It does not. Serious foul play is serious play. In one game I played - opposition made a quick break which we stopped by conceding a throw. Collecting the ball for the throw midway in our half, I turned to see the opposing centre back punch our centre forward (he was a wind up merchant) as they were still coming out of their penalty area. The linesman flagged, the guy was sent off and we were awarded penalty. I remembered we were all a bit surprised but that is the rule.
  • Kermorgant is right up there with Liam Neeson's character in the film Taken, dont mess with him cos he'll smash you

That decision was wrong. The player should be sent off but play should be restarted with a throw, assuming the ball was out of play when incident happened

That's what I was asking earlier! If the ball is dead then surely its not a penalty?

Who is the qualified ref on here? Spankie, isn't it?

ball wasn't dead when McKenzie reared up was it?
