    jacko appears to half a slight injury. worth getting a short term loan in like Hogan with the amount of games we have now cmoning up or stick with what we have to cover?

    That's maybe why SCP tried Haynes yesterday. Maybe get Hogan or see if Waggy, Haynes or Green can cover...

    Sorry, are you making fun of me? The keeper didn't move for the 2nd penalty, it looked like if he had dived to his left he would have got it. If I've missed something let me know, but just quoting me in a condescending manner seems a bit rude?

    Surely most penalties can be judged that way...if the keeper dived the right way he would have got it, he didn't! As far as I can remember JJ hasn't missed a penalty so he is fine by me.

    Yeah, I wouldn't change him as our penalty taker. But I mean, there are penalties that people take where you think they look unstoppable - I didn't think that of either of his; his free-kicks on the other hand, I did.
    Clive Mendonca for example - I couldn't imagine someone saving a penalty from him.

    The first one the keeper did go the right way but it was so well struck he couldn't keep it out. The second one was hit very hard and right in the corner, with the keeper not reading it at all...so not quite sure I agree with you I'm afraid!

    The first one the keeper did go the right way but it was so well struck he couldn't keep it out. The second one was hit very hard and right in the corner, with the keeper not reading it at all...so not quite sure I agree with you I'm afraid!
    I think I'm just that much more pessimistic than you! I see the first one as The keeper got his hand to it, so was therefore quite close to saving it.

    IF the pitch had ruptured, much like the Earthquake that nearly killed Roy Race and his Melchester Rovers team, the penalty might have ended up in the Earth's crust.

    Big IF though. almost renders the word 'if' futile...

    Two penalties, two goals. Not really sure anything else matters. Whenever I see a penalty go in, I say exactly the same thing. "You don't stop those."

    I don't agree with the first actually, I don't think it was nicely struck, I think the keeper was unlucky and a few keepers in this league would have saved it. Second one was good but made to look better by the keeper hardly moving. End of the day, they both went in the net, only thing that matters.

    Goalie may not have dived for the second but it was just about the perfect pen. Hard, low & right in the corner of the goal. How much more can he do FFS

    Yes, that is a big if. However, the idea of a keeper moving or not moving is not a very big if. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a goakeeper trying to save a penalty is actually nothing like an earthquake?!
