Wasn't there Judi Dench film (Notes on a Scandal maybe?) where she says her old man was a Charlton supporter and "they never brought him much joy" ?
  • Charlton scarf on the wall in Gavin and Stacey when the lads all stay round Bryn's.

The film Buster about the train robbers the protaganist is an addick.

In Coronation Street Curly Watts asked Ken if he though Man united would win the FA cup.

Barlow replied "Behave speccy, we aint the Charlton".

(one of the above may be a falsehood)

beat me to it sralan...was trying to remember which of Clive Owen's series this was in. If I remember right, it had something to do with the producer or director being a Charlton fan. Good show.

When I was a lit'lun the Dr Who music used to scare the shite out of me. I used to hide behind the settee.

    Never liked it since.

When i was kid the music used to send me to sleep. Even now if i have trouble sleeping i memorise the music in my head and i soon drift off. Mental I know!

Thanks, United was an excellent drama, but I somehow managed to forget that the game against us, and the motivational speech!

    Typical BBC bias :-D

I actually watched that episode of Fantasy Football last week oddly. It's on YouTube in full.

We did of course have a supporter on Doctor Who when Sophie Aldred played Ace and always wore a Charlton badge and managed to mention us a few times :)

I can't remember what episode it was but 'the Valley' was in dream team and so was Curbishley with a guest performance.

Not sure if this is actually true or not, but heard a story that Michael Grade insisted the opening credits of Eastenders with the map of London start from The Valley. Don't think its the case today, but this was when it first aired many moons ago and he was first at the BBC.
