The weakness is and has been for a while the strikeforce. So many chances and so little finish. The only reason people are not talking about it more is because bwp lacks confidence and noone wants to see it deteriorate (including me) The midfield (scorers of many of our goals) and defence are superb; its our finishing up front that lets us down. We cannot rely on the confidence of a great striker to dictate the outcome of games. This is not a new issue and I hope Powell is thinking of next season already.

Maybe he has a point though. Before that it had been dire for 3 months or so. I know this has been beaten to death on here but, would he cut it at a higher level? Umm... I'm starting to have my doubts.

This is not about bwp; its about what powell does for next season. Its not about goals; its about goals per chances and our midfield are superb and are creating plenty of chances IN LEAGUE ONE. Will they be able to do the same next season in the championship? I think not. I'm not here to berate bradley who has great talent. I just hope powell has his eye on a few strikers for next season. The rest of the team are phenomenal. No-one on here needs to be an apologist for bwp.

Nervous about this one but the main problems on Tuesday were:

    Over confident/casual attitude
    Fatigue
    Bad luck

I think we will have enough to sneak a narrow win. 1-0.

I am going for a 2-1 win. County to get a consolation goal late on after JJ tucks away a penalty and BWP taps in from close range. Hamer pulls off the save of the season to make up for the mistake on Tuesday.

This may be the second of three defeats in four games.
    Another 0-2
Charlton at its best keeping us all on edge till the close of the season.

We will still go up as Champions.

Morning guys and gals....psychic RM here............nursing his balls after THAT result on tuesday......quite clearly over the last few weeks the 'balls' have not been performing to their early season form..............got a good mind to 'ditch' them and look for something else to carress and fondle early on a Friday morning!!........anyway they have one last chance to redeem themselves, so here we go................ this is not going to be an easy game......and there will be some nerves amongst the addicks side early on.......however I can predict that the 'blip' of THAT result will be over......2-1 addicks!! Right thats it then......if all my fondling and carresing this morning (with a slight helping hand from Mrs RM) has not deleiverd te results...........I can assure you my balls are history!!!

Match thread from 2 pm tomorrow.

1-1 and the chasing pack all win - CAFC make us sweat right to the end of the season.

disagree actually-thought at Bournemouth we created nothing until the goal apart from when Kermorgant robbed their full-back and squared for BWP
and for all our possession didn't think we created much on Tuesday night

if we were creating loads of chances but not putting them away I for one wouldn't be too worried

I thought we created several real goal scoring chances on Tuesday - the type you would reasonably expect to get 2 or 3 from most days.

    PANIC

2-0 win - Jackson, Haynes (I mean one of him and Clarke is due a goal)
  • I thought we created several real goal scoring chances on Tuesday - the type you would reasonably expect to get 2 or 3 from most days.
BWP (fairly weak sidefoot wide) and Jackson (blazed over the bar when he had to hit the target) both in the first-half were the only two chances that I thought were really clear cut. We huffed and puffed second half but didn't create much in my opinion.

Two BWP chances, a Hollands chance, Jackson hit the bar, at least two goal mouth scrambles, Yann shaping to shoot in the box before falling over, a goal disallowed for a head injury, Stephens shot blocked. And those are just the chances where we really looked like scoring. We created more in that match than we have in matches we've won
  • alright everyone, new to the blog but written a preview of the county game on this site, it launched last week, its social betting quite good fun and has betting tips and a footballing blog to accompany it, let me know what you think!

  • Tough but exciting 1-0 home win, Hughes or Russell in for Hollands (who looked leggy tuesday) allowing Stephens to get forward and smash in a rocket on 79 mins to win the game, with Hamer a hero at the other end to make up for Tuesdays error!!

Never failed against other title or playoffs-chasing teams this season. I'm going for a 1-0 win.
  • Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy. We are like a rubber ball. Not only do we bounce back from defeat we float to the top in this swamp of a league.

    4-1 the addicks. COYR

Back in the saddle .. CAFC 3 v Notts County 1 .... having watched the one and 1/2 minute 'highlights' from Tuesday, no problem, we lost to a stunner from the Lakelandpoet and a Hamer Howler .... I'd like to see Hughes alongside Hollands in midfield, it's not gonna happen, so unchanged.

Made a rare scoreline prediction on Tuesday and got it wrong so I've learned my lesson. Safe to say my heart says three points nearer promotion. . . . . . . .

Really would like to see Haynes play at least a full half.
  • 3-0, a goal from the rubbish lazy BWP, with an assist from the poor Danny Green who can't cross or control a ball. Kermorgant header after the ball has been played the aerial route too many times. Dale Stephens piledriver after he's spent most of the game ruining Danny Holland's runs and tackles. ;-)
