While he can be annoying, he deserves a chance in the team, it's not as if Green has been so overwhelmingly good as to be an automatic pick in the side.
He's not as good a crosser, and we would lose a corner taker, but he probably poses more of a goal threat0 -

And more importantly for me, keeps Green on his toes if he thinks Waggy is in the running.0

Has to be worth giving him a go, divides opinions a bit but for my money he and Green are hardly classes apart either direction. Different styles admittedly but maybe that kind of thing will refresh a slightly weary-looking team...0

He's not better than Green, nowhere near. Danny Green has some brilliant games and some very, very average ones but there's no doubting that he has an abundance more natural ability than Wagstaff.
Waggy is a great player to bring on when defending a lead or you just need someone to unsettle the oppositions possession. I've never been too convinced when he has started games though. His first touch isn't great as he seems to get the ball caught in his feet a lot.
His crossing is a strange one. More often than not it is a bit weak but then he will produce an absolute gem out of nowhere.0 -
Time to show some character after the last two results. I hope Waggy fulfills his potential, very nice lad.....0

Waggy is still young and inexperienced. It's normal for younsters to blow hot and cold, more so wingers. Of the two, I would imagine that Green has had the more experience. For me, Waggy has it all in his locker and could develop into a great player. He just needs to start putting it all together more consistently. For wingers, sometimes things just click into place quite suddenly as they did for Flanagan and Robinson, for others it never does and we've seen a few of them on the wing at the the Valley in recent seasons.0

I'd rather Waggy at Right mid than Haynes.
Haynes for me is a striker or part of a frontline 4-3-30 -

Waggy is a good lad, works hard and deserves a bit of slack. Personally, I feel that Green leaves us too exposed at times and tries stuff above his ability.0 -

I'm very surprised if that is the case, although if it includes the Notts County game then that will obviously distort the figures.

Saw the other day our points per game is apparently higher with Waggy starting than Green.
I'm sure we can find stats to support both. What is clear though is there's no much between them.
Green's obviously more technical but Wagstaff gets in positions and scores the type of goals that Green doesn't. His header on Saturday a great example of that.0 -
I would still expect Green to score move over the space of a season than Wagstaff though. He might not get into the same positions but he does have a shot on him from distance. A lot of people forget that many of the goals he scored for Dagenham were dierct from free kicks. We've fortunately got two other very good free kick takers in the side.

They both have their good and not so good points and I'd always have one on the bench to keep the other who starts on his game. As of today (or tomorrow) Waggy has earned the right to start in my opinion but SCP makes the decisions.0 -
