He signed for us to get fit after a long injury lay-off (I think he was a Fulham player at the time)? He didn't shine but that was a poor side. The slate is clean as far as I'm concerned.

decent short-term addition to the squad (and important to get em in before the end of the loan window), and like the other loan signing, will reserve judgement until they've at least played for 30 seconds and failed to score from 30 yards with their first touch.

Most teams have something, if only pride, to play for at this stage of the season so we're only going to be getting players who are not even benchwarmers at their parent clubs. Let's see how they pan out!!!

    Bloody awful attitude last time.

Needs to pull his finger out.

I'm happy with this. If Jacko is out, he'll bring balance to the team rather than playing the likes of Danny Green out of position. Better player than Leon Clarke and In Chris Powell I trust.
  • Welcome back Lee.

happy with this, deffo can do a job for 9 games as cover, not sure he will be a championship player tho but good signing, didnt sound like powelly has finished yet, still think he could be looking for a striker.

giving the guy a chance it's not hard to see chris powell charlton is different to alan pardew charlton who's spine was just a bunch of loans. it's evident these signings are cover

Poor? I don't think so. A good player with a more than decent dead-ball delivery at this level.
Some people on here wouldn't know what a good footballer was even if they bought them a bottle of Bishops Finger in the Liberal Club!

LC replaces a LC (Cook for Clarke) so saves money on tracksuits and training kit

    D N'G replaces....... I'd be worried if I was Danny Nigel Green : - )

So Cook becomes the 25th new signing. How many have left us this season?.
  • Thought he was okay last time, for the time he did play. He has that kind of style that makes him look lazy, which was maybe the problem.

It's clear that JJ is carrying an injury and the other alternatives, i.e. players at the club - Callum Herriot, Evina don't quite fit the bill in terms of replacing him, so we've done the sensible thing and got a decent player in on-loan. He's a premiership class player and this is L1 and did ok at Orient.

Should have followed the Danny Haynes/Danny Green route and got Jamal Campbell Ryce back at the Valley : - )

I think this will be a good load signing for the run in. We need cover for JJ.

CP is on record that he doesn't much care for getting in loans, but with the window shutting this week, and so late in the season, loans will have to deliver and line up in the pecking order. Loans in previous seasons have been made in desperation to save us, and the weight of all that made them nearly all failures, this time the loans are as much to provide some sort of cover and insurance rather than us depending on them.

    i'll join in JT.

didn't think this player would be on CP's menu.

He was utterly awful last time he was here. No fitness and no interest in playing for us.

Different club now. Hopefully a different outcome.

Cant believe he is only 29!.

I'm afraid I can't agree with those comments of Lee Cook being uninterested the last time he was on loan at The Valley. I'd be the first one to say that he didn't have the best of times here back in 07/08 but you have to remember the guy was plagued by injury which is obviously going to have an adverse effect on your game.

Not on the same level, but a certain Scott Sincalir was useless for us and look at him now...
  • Given we needed some fresh legs on the left I don't have a problem with Cook. Second chances and all that. If he doesn't put the effort in then I'm sure our crowd won't take long to let him know what they think of him.
