Sorry, can't find the stats. Saw he bagged another two last night - must be nailed on for a recall given our current striker shortage.

Might be worth leaving both of them there as their last game is against Sheffield Wednesday, but then again I don't think it will be a massive problem. I'd like to see Hayes and BWP start a couple of games together and bring Yann on as an impact player.0

Exactly. Powell can bring him back at 24 hours notice.
So leaving him happy, confident and scoring goals at Wycombe for as long as possible is the sensible thing to do.
And if he stays fit, we have a matchfit and confident player ready to step in if needed.
Win/win situation for everybody.

Thing is with Hayes' time here is that he never looked like the kind of striker he seems to be at wycombe.The amount of times i've seen him elect to pass in front of goal when I'm willing him to smash it in the top corner,i've lost count of.

Leave him where he is for the moment. No point in bringing him back to then sit on the bench (or worse leave him out totally).
While he's on loan, he's scoring plenty which is increasing his confidence for when or if we do need him to come back for a starting role. At the same time he's denting other's chances of gaining form for when we play them (Carlisle & Oldham), could ruin the Wendie's hopes on the last day (
) & is making himself a dead cert for Wycombe's starting XI, so a potential problem for them to replace him when we play them (not something we need to worry about for Doc). 0 -
Like Rizzo and Shine pointed out, would he want to come back? Maybe he's enjoying playing football again, scoring goals and probably relishing the feeling of being valued by his manager. Sadly, he did seem rejected by SCP, especially with the whole Clarke debacle.
In the event of him being recalled I'm sure he'd have the personal and professional pride to replicate his Wycombe form and not just to give a big 'up yours' to Powell. Though that would be a positive reason to do it as well.0 -
I'd like to get him back. I want what's best for Charlton not Wycombe, and whether he scores against our promotion rivals will be irrelevent if Wycombe still lose 2 1 or 3 2 etc.
In normal circumstances, if any club, 8 games remaining in the run in to promotion, had the opportunity to bring in a striker, bang in form, and free of charge they would probably jump at it. Even more so in our case where we only have two recognised strikers available for selection.0 -

i presume there's a clause saying he cant play against us. Quite happy if he stays there to keep fit. he's not going to get in team above Yann and BWP unless there is an injury. He's never looked comfortable as a sub. One of those who looks better from the start so leave be I say.0

Perhaps he's playing as the main striker at Wycombe, whereas Wright-Phillips was the main man with us. Hayes' previous goal scoring record doesn't indicate that he would go on such a scoring spree. Maybe he has awoken from a slumber with something to prove.0

His previous goal scoring record at this level does indicate he'd go on a scoring spree. 18 and 17 in Scunthorpe's two promotion campaigns.
He was hardly in a slumber when he was playing for us as he was a key part of the table topping side. Unlucky for him we signed Kermorgant.
And as ever his partner, in this case Beavon, is scoring lots too. Same as with Gary Hooper and BWP

An advantage of leaving him there is that Wycombe may play some of our rivals, we wouldn't want to weaken them for those games!0

Sod that, get him back I say. I'd rather he was scoring for us than Wycombe.
And in terms of our rivals they've only got MK Dons, then Sheff Wed in the last game of the season when it'll be done
and dusted anyway.
