West Brom we won 4-1. Mortimer scored a pen in the second half, Robbo wasn't gonna take another. I remember thinking about that pen when he was stepping up at Wembley. He looked particularly relieved to slot his home! Legend.

We were 2-0 up early on and Robbo got them both. We got the penalty, still in the first half, and they let Robbo take it to get his hat-trick. Except he didn't. The man known as Curbs done his nut, mainly about letting him take it as there was still an hour to go. I thought P****w took a few penalties in those days, maybe the memories going.
  • West Brom, the keeper made a good save to his left, he only took it to try and score his first ever senior hat-trick.

    Snozz.............Proper Charlton.
  • In the division 1 champions season, John Robinson was my mum's favourite player because of his 'choochie' face.

It was the 1995/96 season and WBA were in the middle of a huge run of losses - something silly like 8 or 9. They'd gone from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 and we could have been 4 up in the first ten minues. Every time we went forward we look as if we'd score. 2-0 early on then Robbo missed his pen and we ended up winning 4-1 but should have been more.

In the play off winning season, I'm sure we beat West Brom 5-0 at home during our 8 successive wins, no goals conceded late run that took us into 4th place from nowhere.
