Always one of the 'has potentials'. Maybe it's our club that holds them back

They showed Lisbie's hatrick against Liverpool on SS2 or 3 earlier today. As SHG says, every dog ........

Brilliant player until he gets tired. Great performance at Tranmere then hopeless by December. Would be a decent squad player IMO.

He's still playing for a team below us in the league..

Doesn't count, sorry. His goals and assists only count as half (for wingers we like they count double).
  • Can see him coming back in the summer, he can play left or right so is useful in that regard.

Powell will already know all about him too, he is 100% never going to be a Neil Warnock player.

I'd be extremely surprised if he came back. He wouldn't be improving our squad in any way. All current wingers at the club are better than him.

Wagstaff can play on either side, and I believe Jackson and Green on their weaker side would still be more affective.

Perhaps he has matured at last and/or Curle is getting the best from him, playing him in the right position. Sam never was and never will be an out and out winger, he's more of a Walcott type. I wish him well except for when he plays against us.

can't see it myself, would have made sense to get him in on loan if that was the case

Tough one this, Sam was one of our best players in that League One Play Off season, scored goals and made plenty as well but is he better than Wagstaff/Green? Very tight call.

Waggy is solid and Green capable of some quality crosses and goals but Sam does have that bit of quality on the ball, although he can disappear from games.

One advantage that Sam gave the team when he played for us, he invariably drew 2 defenders each time he had the ball.......creating space for an unmarked midfielder to get forward.

Most managers double marked Sam, so what was it all these experienced professionals
    knew?

Disagree he's like Walcott, he's the exact opposite. Walcott is very direct whereas Sam hates getting too far up. He'll often come back on his left foot just so he doesn't have to use pace and. cross or shoot. Great skill but little end product (shot or cross).
