Carlisle Dilemma

I've been convinced for ages that we'll get promoted in Cumbria as usual and I'm desperate to get to the game.
However, work is thin on the ground and money is tight.
My dilemma is this...I have a cheque that'll clear this week but it's meant to pay this month's mortgage.
Do I dip into it and travel up or should I be boring and sensible?!

When I finished working on saw, I became a consultant for batman. I gave the character "two face" a chance to shine on the movie screen.

He always flipped a coin to make life interesting.

That Alan would be my advice.

    Flip a coin

It is bit of a gamble, but there might be the chance that you will massively regret it if the big day comes next week and you're not there to see it. You can get a match ticket + coach ticket for a combined total of about 45 quid. Tighten up that 45 quid elsewhere, see a historic day for your favourite club and I'm sure you will see it as worthwhile in the end!

I don't think you'll get any better advice than this.

5% chance you can sell your house in time.
0% chance you can win the lottery
95% chance you'll think, "Sod it. I'm going anyway!".

Sorry mate, but having been through some really tough times then I have to advise paying the mortgage.......believe me when I say that as tough as it maybe not being there for a potential promotion party..you will still need a a house (and family) to come back to.

Can't you just swap your house for a train ticket....?

They both cost about the same.

Do your mortgage company do "payment holidays"? A lot do these days.

It will cost you more in the long run, but it could be the answer.

    Some quality suggestions there !
Selling my body isn't an option - I'm in enough debt as it is!
I'll enquire about the mortgage payment holiday tomorrow Off It.

Quite agree. The most likely scenario is that we get promoted at home to Wycombe. Get that mortgage paid.

Exciting times indeed, Marchy .......but can't bear to have to wait all through the Football League "without Charlton" show.

I'll wait until it appears on Auntie Beeb's site on Wednesday.

As you want to spunk your mortgage payments on a trip to Carlisle, how about a solid week of vigorous sperm donations to the bank ?
