really think that all young people should have cardiac screenings on the nhs in schools mandatory. It's simple to do, doesn't take long and if you suffer from any covert heart condition it can be treated quite easily. For all the lives it would save it would be worth it.

RIP, awful news. They have cancelled all the footie in Italy this week,as you'd expect they are in a state of shock over there.

Don't know if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but Paulo di Canio flew back to Italy after Swindons game today, he lost his mother yesterday, I think his Dad went earlier this year, very sad for him.

    RIP.

I wonder if young footballers are being pushed/pushing themselves too far, or it's been a particularly horrible year for these kind of incidents.

I heard on the news that he had been recently screened and given a clean bill of health.

Really awful, Morosini was striving to be a success for his sister and the memory of his family. Dosen't seem like in the modern world one family, should have so much tragedy. RIP.

Italy has one of the best screenings for athletes in the world, and they continue throughout their career. Plenty of us probably have arrhythmias, but we're sat on the couch not running our heart rates at 90% max for extended periods. Such a shame how events combine, and that in different environments maybe players like Puerta, O'Donnell and Morosini would survive.
